ISA Confusion
I have a Virgin Cash ISA (1.50 %) in which I have already invested the full allowance for this tax year. I also have an old ISA with NS&I (soon to be 0.75%). Am I allowed under the rules to transfer the funds from the NS&I account into the Virgin ISA?

Can you use a LISA and H2B ISA to buy a house?
I read MSE articles on these two ISAs but couldn't quite work this out... Is there any way to 'max out' a H2B ISA, then start putting money into a LISA and then combine the two to buy a house? I have a feeling the answer is no because the way the bonuses are paid. I currently have £8056 in Halifax's Help to Buy ISA (until…

Help regarding ISA rules!
Please forgive my lack of knowledge! Currently in the process of transferring a Stocks and Shares ISA into my name. Have been advised that it firstly needs to have the "ISA wrapper" taken off it prior to transfer. After this has happened and transfer has taken place I can then turn it into an ISA again through completion…

ISA allowance - transfer rules
Hi, Under the current ISA rules, I can only take out one stocks and shares ISA using a maximum investment of £20K, but ideally I'd like to split this across 2 investment ISAs. Can I gift £10k to my mum, who's a lower rate tax payer and hasn't subscribed to an ISA this year, and then ask her to open an ISA? The idea being…

Can I transfer my old Virgin ISA to better Virgin ISA
Have a current Virgin ISA that I pay monthly into. Just checked it's 0.51%. Just checked MSE and the best way access ISA is Virgin again with a 1.35%. So can I just go online and do a transfer from original Virgin ISA to the new one? Or phone up and do it? Don't know too much about ISA tbh but think can only have one.…

What to do with my ISA?
Hello, So I have a Cash ISA with Natwest that I opened years ago and the interest rate is appalling on it now. I want to move to a normal savings account as I don't really benefit from the ISA as I never save more that £2000 a year.I want a better return basically! What would the implications be if I moved my savings out…

How does Yield work in mutual funds?
I am trying to choose a mutual fund for my kids JISA. There's about 7 years left. I am looking for something lower risk than an index tracker. I am attracted to these Bond/Gilt funds that have a yield of 4-5%, but I am confused how they work. Example: Historic yield = 4% paid monthly Growth = 2% over last 12 months If I…

Can I put new money into 2 IFISAs in the same tax year?
If I put £5,000 into an IFISA with Zopa, and £5,000 into a cash ISA, may I then transfer the cash ISA's current-year contribution of £5,000 to an IFISA with RateSetter, effectively getting new money into two IFISAs in the same tax year? Or do the ISA rules forbid this?

NS&I CUTTING ISA interest rate
I received an email yesterday to the effect that National Savings and Investments are actually cutting the paltry savings rate on their ISA from 1% to 0.75%. I've already moved money out of this ISA due to the abysmal savings rate. Do they want to actually lose customers, I wonder?

Understanding isas interaction (with long winded example)
Hi All, I have a bit of a strange plan but I am getting so confused with ISA laws that I really just don’t know if its legal or even if the system can work the way I want it too. This may be a long one so I’ll try to break it down into parts. For simplicity ill just say that no interest is gained on any balance in these…

Flexible ISA abuse for maximum profit
At the start of the year, I'm thinking to withdraw my ISA and invest into things to maximize savings / dividend / capital gains allowance, and then before the end of tax year shelve everything back into the ISA to roll-over that allowance for the long term. Is my thinking somehow flawed? What I am hoping to avoid is…

Low Running Cost Stocks & Shares ISA
Apologies if this has been asked many times before. I have a small S&S ISA with just 2 holdings in it. Both are UK household names listed on LSE. Total value just under £6K. With my current ISA broker account, the account charges are making this uneconomic, as the annual cost even with no activity is £90. At moment I no…

Inheritance tax and ISA
It must've been asked before on here, but if an ISA portfolio is greater than the Inheritance tax limit by say £100,000 and the person holding the ISAs dies and the ISAs are cashed in, is Inheritance tax then liable to be paid?

Company Share Save to S&S Isa
Hello I would like to apologise in advance for my ridiculous questions about to be fired your way. I have done some research on this but it has confused me more than ever. I could really do with some dumbing down so...here goes. ==== I joined a sharesave scheme at work. It has matured. They gave me three options : a) take…

Coventry 5 year ISA
I currently have an Isa with the Coventry and also one with Santander. I am considering transferring them both into the 2.3% 5 year Isa with the Coventry. Added together both Isa`s total approx £83,000. I`m unsure what to do with the interest as over the 5 years it would take the balance of the account to over £85,000, or…

I opened a Skipton Lisa on the 2nd October 2017, (So I can use it toward a house purchase in about 1mths time) I am presuming it will take at least this long to sort the rest of the sale out? At the…

Transfer old ISAs and invest new money
The MSE website says higher interest rates tend to be available for new ISAs rather than for transfers. I want to transfer some old ISAs to get a better interest rate. I also want to open a new ISA with a decent interest rate. Does this all have to go into one new ISA, or can I have two within the tax year? i.e.. a new…
