Hello
I would like to apologise in advance for my ridiculous questions about to be fired your way.
I have done some research on this but it has confused me more than ever.
I could really do with some dumbing down so...here goes.
====
I joined a sharesave scheme at work. It has matured. They gave me three options :
a) take cash
b) take them as certificates
c) put them in a holding account
I have given them instruction to put into a share account because at the time they misinformed me by telling me i cant move them into an ISA, whereas everything ive read is to the contrary.
I have contacted them again for clarity, in the meantime im looking for some answers to the below.
For info, I have an open S&S ISA from 2017 - 2018 (not part of any sharesave) and not my company shares.
I would like to move my sharesave shares into an S&S Isa to combat capital gains tax.
Question 1 :
I have read that i have 90 days to move my shares into an S&S Isa. Can i do this directly? So far, all ive read is that you have to sell them and then buy them back at the current rate. I would lose out if this happened.
Question 2 :
If this can be done directly without any loss, anyone know which companies offer this service?
These are the only two questions i have as of now. Hoping you could help! :A

Providing your type of saving scheme qualifies and you are still within the 90 days period you can transfer the shares to a S&S ISA.

They will count as part of your £20,000 2018/19 allowance presumably at the current share price.
Ask your existing ISA provider fro details of how to do this. For example at Halifax there is no charge.0
