Does anyone know if such account exist? I was just about to go for Nationwide Fixed ISA bond (1yr) and noticed in the conditions that you can not put any additional funds in until the end of the 1 year period. Since I only have a 1000 at present, I don't wan't to lose the rest of my ISA allowance for the year... Advice…

Difference between Fixed Rate ISA and Variable Rate ISA?
Hello, Sorry for this simple question, but I hope someone can shed some light on it for me... I've noticed often the same banks have both Fixed Rate ISAs and Variable Rate ISAs. Yet the Fixed Rate ISAs always have a higher rate of interest. I was therefore wondering what the catch was in getting a Fixed Rate ISA? Surely if…

Cancel Barclays Tax Haven application
Has anyone tried to do this? I had a letter a week or ago saying it'll be another 30 days. Would probably rather cancel and go for Egg - lower rate but easy. I could cancel the cheque but that would be charged I guess. I assume as the account hasn't been opened then there's nothing in their system (application is in a pile…

Alliance Leicester ISA woe
I opened a new Premier ISA Issue 2 (the 10% one, accounts starting 802) shortly before the end of the tax year (penultimate week of March, I think)... My account appeared in my online banking the very beginning of April, and April 4th I put last year's £3000 into it. April 11th I put this year's £3600 into it. My balance…

ISAs - Increasing your annual tax-free savings allowance
I have a question relating to ISAs, which I thought members might be able to answer. As I understand it, ISAs are a government initiative offering everyone an annual tax-free saving allowance to encourage saving. This is limited by the government to an allowance of £3,600 per year for Cash ISAs (which is what my question…

should ISAs be emptied to pay a deposit
I am sure many money savy people have worked it out already so could you please share your knowledge. Which way would be most profitable ( or least expensive), to live money on ISA or to scrap it to put as big deposit as possible so there is less mortgage interest ?

Thought I had it worked out, now I'm not sure
This was the plan: - Transfer my two ISAs into a Nationwide ISA 1y fixed rate bond. - Open a regular saver ISA at a better rate, and pay this year's allowance into it. The back of my Nationwide application form says '[I declare that] I have not subscribed and will not subscribe to another cash ISA in the same tax year that…

I've heard that some people have put money into some sort of stocks and shares ISA plans and got returns of something like 15% AER before tax. How much risk is involved in these, and who manages what the stocks and shares are invested in?

Aberdeen ISA
A year or so ago I invested £8000 (£4K for 06-07 and £4K for 07-08) into Aberdeen Property Share Fund. This was on the advice of an IFA who knew I was risk averse. I have recently received my statement and my investment is now worth £5195.89. I know what has happened to property in the last year but was this a sensible…

Hi all, I've been attempting to transfer most of my cash ISA from Icesave to Lloyds TSB to take advantage of the 6.5% fixed rate offer. transfer - does it affect new ISA allowance
I'm sorry if this has been asked before, but I couldn't find any reference using search. I have a couple of cash ISAs from previous years, and I was wondering if I transfer some money to another cash ISA will this use up some of this year's £3600 allowance? Or is the allowance for 'new' funds? Thanks

The most recent portfolio value shows that it's fallen in value by just under £800 since October 2007. So the question is,…
