Understanding ISAs
Hi, I am 19 and run my own business, so I'm not an entire financial-noob. I have a current account and ISA with HSBC (5.85%). Now I understand that you are limited to investing £3600 per tax year. When I get to the end of this financial year and I have invested the full £3600 can that be left in for the next tax year? Or…

cash ISA for 16yr old
Hi, can anyone recommend the best cash ISA & current account for my son? He's just turned 16, has about £1200 atm and should receive something between 2k & 4k later in the year, very unsure of the amount right now (I realise he can only invest £3600 in the tax year). Abbey say they can offer him 6% on a current account and…

Hi I applied for a Tax Haven ISA with Barclays on 29th April, today(16 May) I contacted them as I hadn't received any documents and learned that it takes 14 days to process...when pressed, the clerk told me that the interest is back dated to the 14th day after application!! Barclays Cash ISA Hell
 I have applied for a Barclays Tax Haven cash ISA some time in April (around the 12th). By May 9, 2008 Barclays had still not opened my ISA and since the agent on the phone was unable to even tell me how long it would take for the account to be opened I got fed up and requested the immediate cancellation of my…

What to do when our ISAs mature?
Back in November 2004, my wife and I were pursuaded to take out a Maxi Stocks & Shares ISA with HSBC, and we each put in the maximum £7,000 which has not been added to. They came with a guarantee that if we keep them for 5 years until November 2009, we will get back no less than £7,700 each and possibly more if the FTSE…

ISA - rules re: number of new accounts each year
I'm sure I read somewhere that you can only open one new ISA account per annum. My wife changed her cash ISA from Barclays to Lloyds at the beginning of the current tax year. I would like her to also open a shares account through another party. Does the opening of the Lloyds account preclude her from doing this this year?…

Need to make a complaint
Abbey sold me a Direct ISA Issue 2 on the basis that it was fixed at 6.25% for 13 months and this is not true. I realise that many people have said that the ISA was variable so before I opened it I checked about 3-4 times with phone staff and a member of staff in a branch. They told me that it was called variable because…

A&L Internal Transfer
I want to transfer an existing Premier Isa to the Issue 4. I'm assuming from their literature that it's all straightforwards (famous last words?). Has anyone else any experience of this? Also, can you run the Direct ISA without having a Premier Direct Current account?

Is a 'deposit' a 'subscription' when opening a fixed rate ISA?
I've opened a Nationwide fixed rate ISA and transferred my 06/07 funds from Kent Reliance. (I'm sure my application is still sitting on their desk, but I've applied at least.) My next question ( ) is: seeing as Nationwide's fixed rate ISA only allows one deposit, can I make a second transfer of my 07/08 funds…

Best plan if have full ISA amount to deposit
Hi All, I'm fortunate enough to be in the position to have the full amount available to deposit in an ISA. Currently thinking that the best option is to open a principality 6 month fixed rate (6.49%) then transfer from that into another good rate ISA such as the IceSaveISA I'm probably going to transfer my existing ISA…
