Barclays ISA-lost 14 days interest

Hi
I applied for a Tax Haven ISA with Barclays on 29th April, today(16 May) I contacted them as I hadn't received any documents and learned that it takes 14 days to process...when pressed, the clerk told me that the interest is back dated to the 14th day after application!!
When it became clear that for 14 days you get NO interest...imagine how many millions of people invested their £3600 not knowing this info and Barclays are getting all this investment for free for 2 weeks!!!

As this was a 'brand leader' at 6.5% on that date, only to be slashed to 6.25% since (variable) I am not entirely happy...would they accept a post dated cheque? 'I doubt it' 'nuff said:confused:
