Car total loss, refused offer advice please!
Hi guys! Long story short someone crashed into my drivers side of the car, destroyed the side and door and its been listed as a total loss, it was non fault on my part and the other driver has agreed it was their fault so this isn't a problem. This is my first time ever having any sort of insurance claim so a little…

Not sure if this or the health & beauty board is the right place for my query, so apologies if I've chosen wrongly. Anyway, I'm contemplating taking out private health insurance for hubby and I and am looking for general advice/recommendations because I have what is classed as a chronic pre-existing condition. It's not…

Short term van insurance 1-2 weeks.
My van insurance runs out this Friday. It's for private not commercial use. I need to use it for an additional week or two before I may put it up for a year, since I will not be needing it. Is there any way I can extend my current insurance to cover an additional 2 weeks? Anyone have any idea what the best way around this…

Business Insurance, my company deciding on levels of payout
We had a lot of stuff stolen from my work cross multiple departments in the company. My department was the worst hit, losing an estimated £50K worth of stuff. I've just been told informally that the settlement should be coming through and the company will be allocated X amount of funds to spend as they wish. That's then…

Insurance Company Not Paying Up...
A guy drove a van into my wall on 9th October 2015, he initially stated that he would pay for repairs, he got quote after quote and told a few lies and suffice to say does not have the means to pay for the repair. I then contacted his insurance company and they started the process for me to claim. I sent a quote over to…

was my life assurance misold
I bought a house in 2002 as a single lady with no dependants, I took my mortgage with Britannia and was advised to take out mortgage protection and set up a decreasing life assurance policy which I did. It wasn't until 2012 and sold my house that I rang up the insurers (Phoenix Life) to find out a little bit more about…

Life Insurance No Mortgage
Hi 32 years old, wife doesn't work and one 18mth old child, both dependent on my earnings. Looking at life insurance, yes I should have sorted it at least 18 months ago but I haven't slept for 18 months so I've been a bit of a zombie. Renting at the moment for probably the next two years before getting a mortgage. Earn…

Car crash - third party insurer is rubbish and I have no rights to complain
In September I was crashed into by someone who is insured with a terrible insurance company. They lied to me in order to get my custom and it's been downhill since there. I could go on for hours about how terrible they are. They will not refund me for phone calls made to their 0844 number (after they refused to give me a…

"Flood" caused by blocked drain - insurance quotes?
I'm getting quotes for a house I'm due to buy. Apparently in the past ten years the back yard (not the house) was flooded slightly as a drain on the property was blocked and heavy rain caused water to back up (a big puddle basically). All remedied now and the drain is now clean and regularly maintained. When I'm getting…

Home insurance if not living in property
We are buying a house for our daughter to live in rent free. I realise that we as the owners will have to take out buildings insurance, but don't believe we need landlords insurance. Can we take out normal buildings insurance if we don't live there ourselves? Can we also take out a contents insurance in our name to cover…

Historic non claim
Hi all. I am hoping there is someone on here who can shed light on a situation as I am totally baffled! I will explain.... I borrowed my mums car back in August and luckily got it insured on a temp cover basis for that day. Typically I had a bump. I reversed into a 4x4 with bull bars I was driving a focus so I came off…

Compensation/Complain against Insurers?
Hi all, fairly new to this site so apologies if this isn't appropriate to post in this area. The travel insurance was bought through Sainsbury's - but the actual insurance issue is dealt with by Cigna Insurance. To cut a long story short, I was robbed whilst on holiday in Sweden back in the summer. The thieves broke into…

Car accident, driver at fault drove off
Hello, this evening a guy drove into me. It was 100% his fault, but when I stopped to exchange insurance details, he sped off. In fact I could not even get his plate (only partially). I don't particularly want an at-fault claim on my insurance. I assume I have little choice but just thought I would ask if anyone has any…

That was easy - car insurance
OH insurance renewal came from LV. Just under £270. He tried comparison sites and a few of those not on them and the cheapest were around his renewal price. Rang LV to discus his renewal and they reduced price by £40.

Would this count on the house insurance?
Hello All, Trying to wonder whether this would be something that would count on the house insurance or not as have had house insurance for 10 years but never claimed! We had a new bathroom fitted about 5 years ago. It was never well fitted - we had mould within 2 months round the bath despite me trying to dry it after each…
