Reduce offer or hold our nerve?
If anyone can stand another question about what to do now that we’re in a pandemic, I’d like some opinions. Partner and I are FTBs, been looking for a house for 18 months, had one purchase fall through after waiting a year. Found a 2 year old property we really liked and wanted to get the house so went in with an offer £5k…

COVID-19: Support for landlords?
Apologies if this is already being discussed. Our primary source of income is rental from three properties. I also have a small work pension and my wife has the state pension. I completely understand the government's desire to protect renters just as they are protecting mortgagees. What I am worried sick about is the…

It was sold in 2014 for 283k, but since then they have done quite a bit of work in modernising the property. A similar 4 bed…

If a landlord has rent guarantee insurance, will it kick in if the tenant is unable to pay their rent due to being affected by COVID 19? I understand the government is bringing in emergency laws, etc. just wondering if the insurance would be of use during this crisis times?

Morgage withdrawal possibility
Hello i am in the process of buying a new flat. Water search problems
Good evening all I am a first time buyer, trying to buy a leasehold flat and about to have a nervous meltdown. Our offer was accepted on the 25th of January and since then we managed to get the environmental search and local authority search pretty quick. Our mortgage is also approved and ready to go. Now, the problem is…

Tenancy ending during likely lockdown
Last month I gave two months notice to end my tenancy (SPT, if it matters) at the end of April. Looks like London is going to be locked down imminently. Does anyone have any sense of whether the usual rules (double rent for still being in the property after notice expires, etc) would still apply? The management company…

Does Covid-19 make online conveyancing a more appealing option?
Up until now we had been debating whether to go with my home move, or to pay the extra £350 to use a well recommended solicitor who is literally just around the corner from us. I have to admit as FTBs we had settled on the idea of going local, but it's now likely to be a slow sale (vendor is still house hunting) and…
