Tenancy ending during likely lockdown

Last month I gave two months notice to end my tenancy (SPT, if it matters) at the end of April. Looks like London is going to be locked down imminently. Does anyone have any sense of whether the usual rules (double rent for still being in the property after notice expires, etc) would still apply? The management company couldn't give me an answer.

If London is locked down, I imagine it’ll be somewhat difficult for them to carry out the end of tenancy checks and also for the new tenant to move in

i would try to be ready to leave on time, if your locked down I would say it’s reasonable for both parties to just pay normal rent

As above, even if usual rules still apply, you'd have to be a very confident landlord to think it's worthwhile evicting someone and putting the property back on the market.

Sorry to hear you're failing with crumpet.  Maybe you could post in the relationships section of the forum ...
