Oh dear - This is looking legally very dark
Some of you might have read my post a day or two back regarding an aspect of my planning application and the local parish council (thanks for thoughts on that, everyone) but things have got a little weird since then. I now have written evidence that at least one person on the local parish council provided the planning…

Advice on renegotiating price after survey and EICR
Hi there! I've no real experience of property price negotiation, so I'm asking to see if anyone can help. I recently offered the full asking price of £95,000 on a flat and this has been accepted. I had a "Homebuyer's Report" survey which stated: the flat had various minor defects and that the flat's electric heaters are…

SDLT - Would this be classed as a second property?
My husband and I live in a mortgage free house which is solely in my name. If we were to buy another property with the intention of renting this out, and have it solely in his name, would this avoid paying the additional percentage towards SDLT since the new law came in? Or would it somehow be classed as a second property…

Credit Card Debt
Have just had an emergency and had to spend on my cc which is 5k now. ( only debt) How much of a problem would this be to a lender. Do people apply for mortgages with cc debt often? We earn 100k between us as a joint income and manage the debt down by paying 500 off a month

Scotland Stuff
Morning So I'm likely to be buying next year, and am giving Glasgow / Renfrewshire some serious thought. I have had many many trips to visit the area due to friends and I am totally mobile with my job. Two thoughts that I need to grapple with that I'm hoping some locals could spare some knowledge / punditry? 1) Tenement…

House buying legal documents
I never received a copy of my purchase contract (signed or unsigned) following completion of my house purchase. The solicitor says they were not required to provide a copy of this document as part of the purchase process documentation. Is this right? They now want £42 from me to get the paperwork out of storage.
