We told our landlord in conversation that we are looking to stay in our rented house until we buy a house of our own. He instantly offered us to buy our current home from him but not pay a deposit for 4/5 years...!! He said this is a legit way lots of people buy the houses they already rent but I have never heard of it!…

Replacing an old gas cooker.
I am intending to replace my old gas cooker and was told by the supplier of the new cooker that I would have to arrange the disconnection of the old one myself. After turning off the gas at the mains, is it a simple process for a non-expert to disconnect the gas cooker? The house is currently unoccupied, if that is…

My Partner is clearing and redecorating house left by a Tenant owing rent. Virgin asked if we had a forwarding address! They…

Property investment club
Hi everyone, What would you suggest or how many other options are there to actually invest in properties without being chained for another 20 years because of the mortgage? 20 or even 15 years is a long time, half of my production life. Raising deposit now for new home, not moving in until next year...
I'm looking to sell my flat and buy another new build, like I did 5 years ago. The difference is, when I bought this I paid a tiny reservation fee and then moved in 5 months later, exchanging and completing the same day (when I moved in). Nowadays though, new build flats seem to sell out when they're barely even built.…

Would you choose to live this close to a school? **UPDATED**
I've seen a house that seems to tick most of my boxes, only snag is that it's fairly close to a school. There's no direct access so parking won't be an issue, I was thinking more in terms of noise. I work shifts so often need to sleep during the day and wasn't sure whether the noise might be an issue? I know the advice…
