flushing the toilet at night (when you live above another flat)
If you lived in a block of flats above another flat, would you flush the loo at night, or leave it unflushed so as to not disturb neighbours below? I have lived in 3 blocks of flats over the past 13 years, the first 2 everyone flushed the loo whenever, but my current one is above someone who complains about any noise…

Missing Freeholder
Hi All, I'm interested in a flat (converted house) however the freeholder is 'missing' according to EA. They state this is quite common - is it? This is really putting me off - but I love the flat compared to others we've viewed. Just wanted to know if I am right to be cautious or indeed if this is quite common.

It can't always be this difficult?!
We are FTBs and viewed a property we really liked towards the end of November. It's a fairly new barn conversion on the outskirts of a small village, with some clay mining in the local area. We put in an offer and agreed a price £4000 less than the asking price. We had a full structural survey done, which highlighted a few…

Stamp duty and George Osborne's Budget
I've seen some speculation in various places (BBC News, Telegraph opinion pieces) that there may be something about stamp duty reform in the budget that will be announced next week. In particular, some are saying that stamp duty could be changed so that it's staggered. So if you buy a house for, say, £300,000 you don't pay…
