Buying freehold at same time as buying house
Hi all, We're buying a leasehold house (mid-terrace) and have been doing some reading about the freehold. Am I right in thinking that if we buy it as is, we have to be in the property for 2 years before we're 'eligible' for buying the freehold? We're buying for £160k and have asked the solicitor to find out how much the…

Austin and Wyatt High Charges on Missed Appointments
I have just received a £60.00 deduction from my deposit after renting a house for over a year. I missed two appointments when they came to inspect the property, so they have charged an admin fee of £30.00 each. OK I shouldn't have missed the appointment, but I object to a £30.00 admin fee for what exactly? I just think it…

Victorian building...being a freeholder helps?
Hi all Am offering on a Victorian maisonette in zone 2 London. It's being sold as leasehold with very long lease, or share of freehold: seller will do either!
