Forbidden from displaying political posters in AST- is this right/fair?
In many Assured Shorthold Tenancies, theres a clause in them stating its a breach of the tenancy to display any political posters in windows. I am baffled as to why this is is in ASTs, and surely is an unfair term in direct conflict with "quiet enjoyment" ? What can a Landlord do if you display a poster in the window? What…

Hope someone can advise what to do here, I'd appreciate any input.. I applied for an apartment on the 22nd last month, paid a holding deposit+admin fee over the phone (£1315+£95) after they insisted it would be quicker than coming down to the office, after which I visited the letting agent office to sign the holding…

My solicitor told me today that he received the info from ea and will start with the searches today as well as contact the vendor's solicitor. How long does this usually take? There's no chain either side and both sides have instructed the exchange and closing date to be as 'as soon as possible' thanks :)

We have just taken a mortgage with HSBC and have been told that they will allow two people to be named on the mortgage taking both our earnings into consideration but only having one of us named on the deeds, this being my FTB girlfriend. I have spoken with…

Can we p/ex?
We're looking to sell our house as the costs of travelling back and forward to work are crippling us, also we are expecting out 2nd child in October. Having looked at what houses are going for in our area, it doesn't seem likely we will be able to cover the mortgage if we can sell. Does anyone know if we could p/ex with a…

It's taken the EA some time to send out the contracts so we're effectively out of…

Selling a FTBI home...
I own a home under the FTBI (First Time Buyers Initiative). Clearly I pay back the % I don't own when I want to sell it. Some other similar schemes seem to make you sell the % of your home (i.e. if I bought for £150k and own 50%) it would go on the market for £75k to buy 50%. As far as all documentation tells me, it just…

I also want to ask one of them if they will drop the price because the…
