Temporary safe place for large amount of money
We will shortly be selling our home and moving in to rented accomodation for a few months. Is there a safe place to bank a large amount of money, apart from the usual £50,000 per institution rule. With Northern Rock now not offering total security unsure what to do.

What to do? Neighbour issues.
Not sure if this the right place, apologies if not. I just go home from work to find 4 large loads of bricks and huge bags of cement on our driveway. The neighbours are directly opposite us, and have been digging up their drive for weeks now. A few weeks ago, they asked me if it was OK if they did some stuff that might go…

Letting agency credit checks
I'm in the referencing process to rent a flat through Ludlow Thompson. They've said that I need a guarantor to go ahead with the rental. The first person I spoke to about it said that it was just because my flatmate hadn't entered her details yet, and that the combined income would be sufficient. However, another employee…

Tenancy agreement and deposit
Hi, I have been renting a house for a few years now through an estate agency. I know the landlord personally quite well and in fact whenever I need something (repairs, etc.) to be done, I have to rely on him rather than the agency (they simply relay any request on to him, hence he has himself asked me to contact him…

3.5 year old debt, now living overseas - any advice?
I'm uncertain who to ask for advice on this issue. I lived in a Peabody Trust house for 10 years, and moved out in Sept 2006 when I moved to Australia (where I live now). We had a dispute over rent with them saying I owed them rent and I believed they owed me rent (due to changes in payment schedules). I received a letter…

Disclosing info to solicitor
Can I please have some advice? We've received a whole load of paperwork from the solicitor this morning - results of searches, mortgage offer info...that sort of thing. On one of the documents it says that we MUST inform the solicitor if we know of any works which have been done to the property and it lists addition of…

Incomplete HIP

Hello Everyone, There's massive tree in front of my house. Roots of that tree are going underneath my driveway and house. Leaking Roof
Hi, i was wondering if anyone could help. Upon buying a leasehold flat we noticed the roof had a small leak, in a small roof on a back extension, this connects to and forms part of the main roof (we are the middle flat, the flat above is within the main roof if you follow.) We probably should not have tried to fix it…
