In a real quandary! Have a 2 bed semi. Need a 4 bed house (had 2 babies in last 13 months!) ideally. 3 beds would do i suppose. Have a mortgage of £80,000 house currently valued at £125,000 ish. £10,000 savings. Average 3-4 bed house price around here is £160-220,000. Mortgage of 175 would be top of our budget.…

FTB's - don't buy now!
House prices likely to fall by a quarter in two years House prices in Britain could crash by 25 per cent before mid-2010, forecasters at Capital Economics have warned. That would wipe £45,000 off the value of an average house, currently worth £180,000. http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2008/mar/30/housingmarket.houseprices

Reselling a shared ownership property
Does anyone have have any experience with this? We've had an offer made on our property by someone who currently has a shared ownership property. Apparently they have to resell to another key worker. Does anyone have any experience of what this means and how long it might take. Thanks!

Just how many mortgage offers/products are being withdrawn?
My b/f had an offer accepted on a house a couple of weeks ago. However, we found out a couple of days later that the seller never got building regs approval for his conservatory (required because he knocked the dining room external wall out to make it an open plan one). The seller is now applying for this retrospectively -…

Property transfer...
I wish to buy my brothers property when he moves to keep as a BTL property. My conveyencer wants to charge my brother £634 pounds to sell the house to me and another £800 to buy the place he's moving too. I presume they will also charge me to buy his house. This seems a con because from my understanding to transfer…

BBC Radio 5 Live Report tonight
Was on repos and lenders chasing up repo debt years after the event. I can only find the podcast. http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/podcasts/5lr/ I'm listening again but I didn't have much sympathy for the "victims" when I heard it the first time.

worried about landlord
I moved here last June. The guy asked for 120 a week rent and 500 deposit. No contract at all. I paid all money in to his bank account and have receipts. I have been going to the bank each week and paying over the counter. Anyway, last Saturday night he called me up to say he thought he was missing a weeks rent from a…

Some problems with a possible flat rental
Having finally found the right flat at the right price in the right area to rent, we put a offer and holding deposit in with the agent. The next day, the agent rang back to say that the landlord wanted slightly more PCM, no big problem there, we were willing to pay what they wanted. However they also let us know that the…
