Renting - Reference & Credit Checks

Hello,

I am hopefully moving into a new house (renting). I am currently renting, but my partner who Im moving with isnt.

Im worried about the credit check; the estate agent says its to check for adverse credit, eg CCJs etc. I dont have anything like that. Although my credit score isnt as good as it was when I moved into my current property.

I recently missed a £10 minimum payment (unintentionally, Id set up a direct debit but it hadn't gone through in time apparently) so I paid it a couple of days later, with the next due payment included. Will that considerably affect my credit score as far as what the estate agents are looking for?

My dad is guarantor for us, as my partner got a new job recently and hasn't been in that role for 3 months yet, therefore a guarantor is required. So Im hoping that will help.

Are the circumstances above likely to affect the move? Also, if one of us passes but one fails, will the guarantor be enough to back us up?

Thanks!
