CitizEn Energy..has it been resurrected?
Just done a gas only quote in Which Switch and CitizEn is appearing as one of the cheapest. Having never heard of it before did some Googling (other search engines are available) and it seems it was set up by Southampton Council using Robin Hood Energy's licence but as RHE then was sold to BG it seems CitizEn customers…

New energy quote - likely to change?
My fixed rate dual energy tariff is due to end 1st April. My supplier has provided some quotes for a new fixed rate, the cheapest is £22 more a month than what I currently pay. Are they likely to offer me anything better between now and 1st April or is this quote in line with the rise in energy that has been mentioned on…

Neo Energy
I've joined this forum to alert any person who is choosing an energy supplier. You must avoid Neo energy. I was with them between 1.9.20 to 29.1.21. They owe me £900.00 and are not responding to repeated emails and phone calls. I am now at the point of going through the complaints procedure. They reference the Ombudsmen on…

British Gas
After months of dithering I finally found the courage to do my first switch of energy suppliers. Now I'm wondering if I've jumped out of the frying pan into the fire. I started the switch to British Gas through MSE early last week and the first thing I noticed was that my existing account with them for Boiler and Heating…

British gas rip off
I moved into a two bedroom bungalow in June last year which had the gas and electricity on top up card meters. I requested them to be changed because these type of meter are usually on a higher tariff. From June to the end of November I put about 25 pounds on gas and about 20 pounds on electric as I work full time I'm not…

Gas meter queries - hot water fault?
Hi, I wonder if anyone might be able to help with a query regarding my gas meter. We’re currently in the very early stages of looking into whether or not the meter is faulty, so wanted to do a few home experiments before paying to get a gas engineer in to check the meter. We live in a one bedroom flat in central London -…

Utility Warehouse Sales Tactics 😱
Hi, wanted some advice, I have a Utility Warehouse rep who works with his wife promising lots of savings on bills and shopping expenses. Now they want to do a telephone meeting after sending videos to watch and asking if my husband and I also want to become reps... it’s become a very time consuming thing?! Anyone know if…

EDF payg
I was on a prepaid key meter and I wanted more freedom. So I got it changed to a smart meter, but doing that’s the moved me over to payg which they offer no deals on. Only fixed and variable rates are offered. When I look in comparison websites the only deals that they offer a full prepaid. None seems to offer smart pay as…

EON - switching after 15 years, but...
...I have a smart meter. Will this be a problem? Will I have to go back to reading the meter myself? Shame I have to consider switching but the next available tariff is £20 a month more and it’s just too much. Any idea if it’s worth calling them to see if they can do better?

EDF charging more than double?
Usually me and partner would pay £97 a month for gas and electric. For the last few months it’s has been £97. Today a payment has gone to them for £197 surely this is a miss calculation. Is normal for a company to more than double the direct debit amount? We was using ovo energy before and that went up over the winter but…

Price comparison query
I am currently with SP and their Basic Energy V2 which I was moved to from Tonik. I accept that is a variable rate but at the moment the tariff has not changed. When I tried a few price comparison sites they list a few other companies with various savings. But when I check the actual rates used they are always higher than…

Advice needed - elderly neighbour; pre-payment meter; exorbitant charges - what options do I have?
Please can the MSE crew offer some advice? I'm trying to help our elderly neighbour reduce their outgoings.... At present the big focus is on electricity. Unfortunately there has been a history of 'erratic payment' and many years ago she ended up with a prepayment meter charged by a 'key'. Credit is bought at the local…

Why does my HAN connection strength indicator vary all the time ?
I have a Chameleon IHD3 in a fixed position around 4 metres from my ESME/CH as the novelty of carrying it around the house to monitor electricity usage in 'real time' has worn off ! The HAN/Zigbee strength indicator varies between 3 and maximum 4 bars. How can this be when the IHD doesn't move ? I am wondering if the…

Nabuh Energy for electricity supply on monthly DD
Most of the reviews and ratings I can find for Nabuh Energy are dire. Is anyone on the Forum using Nabuh and how are you finding them? We are high consumers of electricity (circa 24000 units p.a.) and our EON fixed price contract expires at the end of March. Nabuh's pricing is the lowest I can find and gives a significant…

Elnur balancing element vs boost
Hi I’m looking to get three new storage heaters soon to replace a warm air system. As an alternative to the Dimplex Quantum (seem to be many problems), the Elnur HHR and SSH Ecombi ranges look a little cheaper. Can’t quite make out though how the balancing element helps or if it is better than the boost on other HHR…

Solar panel quote
Hi Everyone I know this has been done a million times but I just wanted an opinion. I have been quoted £6995 for a 5kw array with 4.8kw of storage. Is this a fair price?. On had such a spec be found for less? From my calculations this is a very good investment financially and in terms of reducing my carbon foot print. I…
