Help needed please: Uncontrollable heating will not stay turned off.
I have a Siemens RWB27Si central heating control panel it has a temperature dial next to it. For the last 6 years I've been able to control the heating in my house solely with the dial and haven't had to touch the control panel. The heating stays off when the dial is at 0 and then you can turn it up to turn the heating on.…

Central heating vs electric heaters
We have both but does anyone know which is cheapest? I know gas is cheaper than electricity but obviously is the efficiency the same? Our boiler is new and pleasingly despite being at home more than last winter, our usage is the same as before

Are Avro Energy at fault?
Advice needed please...My energy plan was due to end in January. Prior to this in December Avro emailed me with a renewal quote which was reducing my bills from £122 per month to £77...using the last years consumption figures I checked the energy club and it looked like they were on par with what was out there so decided…

SSE suprise refund
Anyone else had multiple payments returned from SSE? We left our old house over 18 months ago and my wife set up a payment arrangement as the meter reading put the account in debit. However today all of those payments came back (individually rather than in one amount) totalling nearly £400. Is this a system glitch. Has it…

Scottish Power Dispute
I have a dispute with Scottish Power relating to my electric reading. Around 14 months ago I switched supplier from Scottish Power to Bulb. A few months after switching I was contacted by Bulb stating I was around £1600 in debit. When I rang up to query this it was established that they had been sent incorrect end/start…

Standing Charges Gas/Electric
As someone who looks to regularly renew energy tariffs with MSE Energy Club I am dismayed to see that there is no special collective deals on offer this time. Such was the great deal last time, when looking at the whole market comparison now I will have to pay almost £100 extra for a year - all of this being extra standing…

EON Economy 7 Smart Meter
Hi everyone! Apologies for the long post but it gives context to the ask. About 4 months ago now we were considering switching to Economy 7 due to how our house is heated (boiler stove & thermal store with immersion heater). We are with EON, and we called for an E7 tariff quote. They advised they could not give us one…

British Gas HomeCare refusing to fix ongoing boiler fault unless customer agrees to PowerFlush
Would appreciate others thoughts on whether the behaviour of British Gas is allowed under the terms and conditions of their HomeCare policy. If it is then existing and potential customers of the HomeCare service need to be aware of the cost implications. In summary, British Gas HomeCare have been addressing an intermittent…

Yorkshire Energy to Scottish Power, then Green Energy
Having been switched very slowly from Yorkshire Energy by Scottish Power to their "Special tariff," it took around 10 weeks (no rush then) before I eventually received an email giving my new account number. Yippee, switched immediately to Green Energy, on a reasonable fixed rate and that process was easy, taking around 17…

How to estimate energy bills with energy rating certificate
Me and my flatmate are moving soon because we currently pay a ridiculous amount on our energy bills atm (£130 a month) even though we only live in a small flat and barely use any energy, but the EPC is rated D, which was something we never considered having to check. Now that we're looking at new flats we are checking the…

Electric wet CH - yes roll your eyes!
I know you’re probably rolling your eyes at yet another all
electric home owner but this is keeping me awake at night and consuming an inordinate
amount of time. I live in a 2.5 bedroom semi-detached house with 9 radiators
(small and large). This is my first house (bought April 2020) and through a
serious case of naivety I…

Smart Meter has never worked at all.
It took years for EDF to persuade me to allow them to install a smart meter in my electricity supply. They installed one on 14th December 2020. It did not work. I phoned to complain the next day. It is now 11th Feb 2021 and it is still not working. They appear be doing nothing to resolve the issue. They persuaded me to…
