Yorkshire Energy to Scottish Power, then Green Energy

Having been switched very slowly from Yorkshire Energy by Scottish Power to their "Special tariff," it took around 10 weeks (no rush then) before I eventually received an email giving my new account number.  Yippee, switched immediately to Green Energy, on a reasonable fixed rate and that process was easy, taking around 17 days.  However, not a moment too soon; when I saw my final bill from Scottish Power, for 2 months supply of electricity, it was a hiked 38% above my Yorkshire Energy tariff and they wonder why we switch away?

    Two points.
    1. Energy prices have risen considerably since you signed up for your Yorkshire Energy tariff, as a result most people are struggling to get a good deal.
    2. Yorkshire Energy went out of business, do you not wonder why that is?

Not nice but it isn't what we paid before but what are choices now are with pricing. YE went out of business as they were supplying to the consumer cheaper rates then they bought them for! For a company not to go out of business, they obviously have to charge a bit of profit which means "higher" prices. All cheap companies with electricity will go under, it's how long they last before they do.

I was switched YE> Scottish power then I initiated a switch to Neo. Bad decision. Neo should have taken over on 2nd and took my 1st DD a couple of days later. The switch has still not happened and I've received a 2nd bill already. When I phoned customer services they always promise a call back (never put me through to the right person) in over a week they've not returned my multiple calls. How difficult is it to call me and say why a switch has failed (my guess is SP are the culprits). I gave Neo warning which they didn't respond to, and am now rescinding the switch and the DD payment they took.
I've had to complain about SP also. What is happening to this industry?!

  • This Yorkshire/ scottish power goes from bad to worse. I have been trying to switch multiple accounts away again. SP have not been responding to emails (addresses dont work), complaints procedure falls flat. They object to switches when they haven't sent bills, its almost impossible to get a bill so you can check what you're paying for. And in one istance the final Ye credit they allowed was £100 less than what Ye said. They mishandle accounts while continuing to demand their higher tarriffs.
Ofgem should never let them do this again and should fine them heavily.
Can't you do something about this?
  • I am still owed outstanding money by Scottish Power after numerous emails to them, their complaints dept.
Finally I resorted to Resolver, when that ran it's course I went through the Ombudsman route.

No result yet, I have almost forgotten the complaint!

It isn't a huge amount of money, however Scottish Power owe me money.

They messed up my online account access and I have never been able to see my final bill which they have never sent to me after numerous requests.

All I know is my exact usage between the demise of Yorkshire Energy and beginning my contract with Neon Reef,  Scottish Powers tariff for that period v the amount I paid them!

I thought that would be enough to have resolution to this very long outstanding issue!

All I have had is promises from Scottish Power, then SILENCE!
