Advice for a first timer..
Hi New to forum. I have been with SSE for over 10 years plus and never switched. I am a typical non switcher using payment on bills every 3 months which is the most expensive and silly way. I have used the comparison site and can save between £300 - £600 . I have included my actual usage and accurate information. However :…

2 year fix
With energy prices going up, would it be sensible to go for a 2 year fix? Most of the fixes are 12 month, but there are a few 18 month and I have found one 2 year.

Horrendous experience with Flow through MSE
Posting for advice and perspective. I switched to Flow through MSE in January. I was in a new build property with an unregistered gas meter. I made them aware of this by phone and email on the day the switch was confirmed, provided photographic and typed meter readings and meter details. Flow said they would register the…

Fixed and confused
First post, so if someone has already asked this, just redirect me... I'm looking to change gas/electric supplier. I found "Toto Energy", which is headed as "Renewable - Fixed for 12 months" but which contains in the following text: "Though the deal is for a set period, your rates aren't fixed - they can go up (or down) in…

Switching confusion
We are presently with the Martin Lewis B.Gas deal which ends next month. B.gas have hiked up the payments as expected. My dilemma is our house is Sold and we have an offer accepted on another property. I most definitely want to switch away from B.gas, but am unsure when. As there isn't a collective deal available and…

Spark energy Driving me crazy and Impossible to complain
Long story short, Spark energy whom I have never knowingly been a customer of is chasing me through a debt recovery agency for a debt I don't owe. I gave notice to leave a property which was later delayed by 2 months. Unknowingly letting agency changed my supply to Spark energy from the date I was originally intended to…

Scottish Power help please
I moved into this flat at the end of April and informed Scottish Power of the change of tenant. I gave meter readings and took photos of both meters. Unfortunately, it appears SP were sending the previous tenant of this flat letters/bills to the flat next door. I've tried to resolve this with SP but they don't appear to be…

When you move home.
I didn't realise when you move home that any fixed deal you have comes to an end. I'm presently with SSE, and was on a 3 year fixed tariff, but they tell me once I move into my new home I will initially be placed on a standard tariff, and then have the option of signing up to their new 3 year deal. However, after recent…

When to switch
Like many on here, my collective fix is due to end on 3rd October. When should I start looking to switch? Now? Can I go through with the switch and say I want it to happen on 3rd October or will it happen as soon as they have everything lined up. Don't want to try and switch too early.

Has anyone had cashback from nPower?
I was thinking of switching to nPower using one of the cashback deals (Quidco, Topcashback, MSE), but have seen quite a few reports of cashback not being paid by nPower. Has anyone here successfully claimed cashback? If so, which channel did you use?

Power cut and boiler damage
Hi all - Just posting for advice if anyone can help. Our area had a power cut last week. When power was restored our boiler no longer worked. We have had a tradesman and electrician out who have repaired it and feel the damage was caused by a "power surge". I am waiting for them to send an invoice with notes explaining…

Being messed around by Scottish Power - please help?
Hi all! We've been having issues with Scottish Power and I do not know how to proceed. When we switched in October, they were unable to get the information they needed from our gas meter and asked us to send a picture of it. The picture was sent in February and we thought nothing of it, until we got a bill in June saying…

I have Landis+Gyr E470 electricity, Landis+Gyr G470 gas and a Trilliant SEAP-2001 Communication box. From my reading so far I understand that 1st generation meters may not always work with the…
