best economy 7 supplier?
EDF have upped the 7 hours night units have gone up to 7.120p. Is it worth changing suppliers and if so what's the best economy 7 supplier the online search sites don't seem to deal with the economy 7 part too well. Most of my eclectricity is used at night - my heating is storage, water is heated at night, washing machine,…

npower - excessive direct debit amount?
Hi everyone, I just moved into my own place for the first time and I have my gas with npower. I think I only have the boiler using gas. The cooking hob is electric. Central heating is only on for 3 hours in the morning, and about 5 hours in the evening. It's a small terrace house with one person living in it. They sent me…

A festive freezing with your card meter??
As all gascard meter users know,if they have a fault with their meter or are waiting for a card, they need to speak to their gas supplier NOT the gas emergency service. But wait...wont they all be closing for Christmas? It amazes me that gas suppliers shut up shop at weekends, late in the evenings ,bank holidays and…

British Gas - "Billing Code" - unsolicited but welcome refund!!!
Hi all, I recently received a letter from BritishGas and, having not been with them for nearly 2 years, almost threw it away as junk.... I opened it to find a final statement relating to my previous address, for the period Feb 2006 to Feb 2007 (when we moved out). Bottom line is:- they have credited my account (and…

A Christmas Gift from British Gas - THIRD price increase this year!!!
Bah, humbug. That talk by Gordon Brown to Opec really scared them! (Sorry, I know there's already a thread, but I thought the third increase this year deserved to appear in a title of it's own.)

I decided to give EON a call to get the £55 credited back to me (my interest not theirs) - the lady at EON stated that if I decided to get the £55 credited back to me my payments would need…

switching
I'm sure this is a daft question but I'm new to all of this, & never switched energy company. I have seen the sites where you can compare suppliers but also needs to be done? Just worried that I'm going to carry on with the form & end up making a mistake & end up with no gas or electric.

Hot water...when only the heating has been on
Hi fellow Moneysavers, We have separate timer controls for our heating & hot water. Recently, due to the cold weather, we have had the heating on for most of the day, but have not needed the water to be heated, as we have a power shower unit that heats the water for our showers. However, we've also noticed that the water…

Staying warm
Not to be confused with the tariff with a similar name. I know there's a lot on the boards about this topic but I was hoping someone more knowledgeable could point me in the right direction. I have E7 in a 1 bed -probably because there are lots of flats where I live and the landlord wants to avoid having to pay for lots of…

Hi Currently I live in a small end-of-terrace house that costs me next to nothing per month to pay for. EDF - Unit Split
Quite new to all this utility bill game as I've recently bought my own property. On the elec bill from EDF - the number of units has been spilt and there seems to be two bands of charging. Is this normal? If it is why do they do this? What is the cut off for the first bulk of higher charged units? Thanks
