How do I understand my electricity meter?
I moved in to rented accommodation in the summer and have, unfortunately, got a pre payment meter. Whilst we haven't been spending that much on electricity we have started spending more due to having the heating on. I work from home and try not to put it on during the day, although it's tempting as we only have single…

Immersion heater
I used to live in a 1 bedroom flat (working couple) and my electricity bills were around £75-80 a month. We had no gas then, just electricity. Does this sound high? Some of my colleagues thought so (its supposed to be around £20-30?) The flat was very well insulated and so I need not switch on the heating all winter, in…

incompetent n power
Since April this year we have had no end of problems with Npower. Sad......but true????
I have just moved into a new rented semi detached house. It has 2 bedrooms whereas my other rented place had three and so there are only 2 people at the new address, not 3. The third person I used to share with was there a lot but obviously used hot water to shower and gas to heat food on the hob. We were paying around £65…

British Gas - insane direct debit amount?
Hi all, I recently moved into a rental, a 2-bedroom flat, with the girlfriend. It's had brand new heating installed and now an electric oven (used to be gas), so the heating is highly efficient.
