N.I question re:qualifying years for state pension
Am I right in thinking that if a person earns at least £112 per week they are covered as far as N.I contributions go towards the 'qualifying years' for the state pension, even though you don't actually pay any N.I until you earn £155+ ?

Job after getting sacked?
Hey. So it hasn't happened yet, and I'm not saying it will... just a possibility. I'm in a job that I've come to find I'm not very well suited to, and I think management are starting to see this too. I'm looking for other more suitable jobs and making applications, BUT if I was dismissed, would I be up that well known…

Minimum wage - petrol - explain please?
My friend has just had an interview for a 16 hour a week term time only job. Pay is £7 an hour - BUT she gets no reimbursement for driving all around the area every day to different peoples homes for this job. It's expected to come out of her wages. Is this legal, as I'm pretty sure that makes her pay under minimum wage?…

Serious Question?
How much do you MSE staff posters earn? On this forum, it's either a troll post or a staffer that creates the majority of the traffic. So what does it pay? Now that I have some time on my hands I feel that I may as well be earning . . . I could perhaps school you in how to make it less obvious . . . I mean, it's not like…

Please delete - re posted on small business, txs
I normally work on a daily rate but recently got an offer of a new contract and some strange (to me) set up was offered. The client wants to pay per hour - it would be daily rate/7.5 hours so theoretically mathematically at least this would make no difference BUT... It is already at half my usual daily rate but not much…
