Admin Online courses?

I have been applying for office jobs as I need a change of career to get out of retail and food industry; I need something more secure and better paid. I don't have any office experience and being aged 30 that probably goes against me. I have experience using Microsoft Office having run my own home business but I was wondering if there are any online courses I could take which would help my CV stand out? I can't spend several hundreds but if I could find the right course which has a payment plan then that would help.
What course would be best to do? I want more computer based skills rather then numerical or customer service (I already have plenty of customer service experience).

If its basic office admin, I don't there is any specific courses.
If you are looking for a typist job role then I believe there are courses to help you type quickly and accurately.
When I started I had a base level general knowledge of Microsoft Office and computers. I didn't have a fudging clue what a pivot table, mail merge, v-look up was.
I would say being a quick learner is more important. Just learn on the fly and you will soon pick up tips and tricks.
Even the most experienced office worker will still learn new tricks.0 -
I did the ITQ (ECDL Extra), via Pitman training. Self study modules, doiung MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint. Most admin jobs will need some knowledge of word / excel..
Was done at their offices (for funding, I guess), but computer based so I reckon could be done anywhere..breathe in, breathe out- You're alive! Everything else is a bonus, right? RIGHT??0 -
Have a look at the free courses on here:

The site looks good but upon reading the t & c's they check your application to see if you are eligible for funding. Which I know I won't be because I have a HND. Having a higher diploma means I get turned down for things that require funding e.g apprenticeships and courses.
If I lied on the application form and put a lower level education like A level would I qualify? I'm so sick of this HND getting in my way of further education, I can't even pay off the loan from it and it'll be hanging over my head until I'm 60.DEBT: 27/12 £4060  6/1 £3906  15/1 £3756 :T 30/1 £3700  7/2 £3911

I have a 2:2 BA Honours degree in Education Studies as well as various other qualifications (AVCE/PTLLS) and I have managed to complete two courses with Vision2Learn. I am currently completing the Business Admin course.
I would be honest on the application form because they do an eligibility check and they will let you know then whether you are suitable or not via the telephone.Competition Wins:

How lucky is must be to get a course! I always get this with Vision2learn so quite familiar with this statement, it makes you wonder...
Sorry, there are currently no fundable places available in your funding area on the course you have chosen.
It does this for every one except Equality & Diversity (which ironically I'd previously paid for as short term learning)0
