Carers
While i know this has no doubt been covered a million times, i'm just wondering if anyone can suggest any where out there who can try and get the powers that be to deal with this ongoing battle between themselves of whatever government we have, and carers about this Dickensian payment of £53 in Carers Allowance. It is…

With holding a diagnosis, should I complain?
This is a complicated one. I was registered with the family doctor from birth until I went to uni. In uni I was registered with the halls doctor for first year and then in 2nd year moved to a practice near where I lived. During 2nd and 3rd year I was getting weird symptoms and basically couldn't get out of bed in the…

Applying for ESA and HB in advance?
Hi, I just wondered if anyone had any ideas... I am due to go for surgery at the end of April. This will probably mean being off work for around 6-8 weeks (I hope). It is hopefully the final stage of treatment for cancer. Because I've had so much time off in the last 12 months, work will not pay me for this absence. Can I…

Won my Tribunal - Now what?
Two weeks ago I won my DLA tribunal after a fifteen month fight. My question is - what happens next. They gave me a sheet of paper with the tribunal decision on it but I have heard nothing from them since. How long does payment take from a tribunal decision? Do they just start paying me or should I get some kind of written…

Should I try to claim some compensation?
I have no idea if this is the right place for this thread, so mods please feel free to move it! Almost 2 years ago my OH and I moved into this house, which we rent from a HA. The house had been checked by them and we were told everything was fine. A few days after moving in, I was coming downstairs and the hand rail came…

Can you get DLA for anxiety?
Without going into details, it's been a terrible couple of years and I now get panic attacks. I'm self employed so I work from home but I can only do it in bursts of an hour, working outside is out of the question at the moment. Is it worth trying to get DLA for a year to tide me over til I am back on my feet again…

Using a Private GP Service
My friend was declined a Blue Parking badge and it appears that it was due to a GP report understating their difficulties. They have M.E. and due to the pain and fatigue experienced a Blue Badge would be beneficial. She has now found a private GP practice and I went with her today. What a difference to the screaming kids,…
