Can you get DLA for anxiety?

Without going into details, it's been a terrible couple of years and I now get panic attacks. I'm self employed so I work from home but I can only do it in bursts of an hour, working outside is out of the question at the moment.
Is it worth trying to get DLA for a year to tide me over til I am back on my feet again properly?

Do you have care/mobility needs?
DLA isn't a benefit to 'get you over' a bad patch.. It is for people that have extra needs as a resuklt of disability.0 -

If you can't work would it be worth applying for ESA?This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

I'd agree that ESA would be the route to go down.
DLA isn't a benefit for people that can't work. it's for people with disabilities, regardless of if they work or not.0 -

Surely you would be better looking at ways to manage your anxiety, rather than maximising your benefit entitlement?Gone ... or have I?0

Why have you not canceled his DLA if he has improved so much?0 -
You can always apply anyway but I doubt you will get it tbh unless you have care or mobility needs.I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.
