Northern Rock/NRAM. How to tackle?
Long time since I posted so forgive me if this has been answered elsewhere. My Ex-wife and I had a Buy to Let mortgage with Northern Rock, everything was working fine, until the crisis we all know about. Basically, we were up to date with payments, but we got a letter from Northern Rock that the property was to be…

SLL pursuing a debt for a closed account - what action can they take?
The debt was originally with Sunny, who closed the account and sold it on to SLL Capital without marking the account as defaulted. Does SLL have any legal grounds to pursue this now the account has been closed without officially being defaulted on? It seems like that goes against the collections process.

Here goes....
*Deep breath* I have just joined this forum and think my first post should be about being honest with my situation. I have 2 credit cards with a total of £3816.82. Both 0% until April 2019. The first one is a money transfer one with £2050 that we got for house improvements. We pay £175 a month off this so this should be…

Robinson Way Nationwide Debt
Hi, I've just received a Letter from Robinson Way stating that I owe them £260.13 which is from an old Nationwide overdraft I had as a Student in 2010. I thought I had completely paid off this overdraft and had entirely forgotten about this account. They said the default occurred in April 2012, I don't think I was using…

1&1 internet domain overcharging
Hi, I've only just noticed that my domain provider 1&1 have been deducting bills from my Paypal every couple of months for random amounts. I used to only pay a yearly bill of around £30 but have just been receiving invoices of around £19 and then others of up to £50. I'm really confused and it looks like they are charging…

Advice please
Hi, I'm not 100% on the details but the situation is: My mum and dad were in a bit of a mess years ago, they've done the hard slog and cleared it all and the CCJs have cleared and dropped off. :A I'd set my mum and dad up a creditclub account each ( :T ) and on my dads there is a CCJ from 2014. As we got discussing it…

Debt from Scotland - living overseas
Hi, I’m new to the forum and have tried to find answers to my questions, but feel like I’m going round in circles and very stressed about old debt that I built up when I was young, stupid and in a darker place. I'm not particularly proud of where I find myself and hoping my questions don't offend anyone, but without…

Making offers to creditors

Debt free (ish).....for now!
Not really sure if this is the right place to post so please move if it is not. I have recently sold my house and paid off all my debts, minus a bank loan that is nearly finished and has fees to repay early. I am really worried because my previous attempts of staying debt free have failed miserably. I am rubbish with money…

Settlement for old debts
Hi, I have a few very old debts (7+ years old) which obviously no longer appear on my credit report and which I am paying small amounts off each month, with no interest being added. The smallest amount is £1/month with just under £9,900 still outstanding. All of these debts have been sold on at least once (the £1/month is…

Where to start???
Ok, so as my other thread mentions, my wife and my debts were being dealt with by StepChange in the form of a token payment plan. StepChange cancelled this plan after 12 months as is their policy, which has resulted in being chased again for the debts. I have a list of accounts from StepChange, that they were dealing with,…

Mortgage shortfall Ge money
Hi I've never posted to a forum before so excuse me for any mistakes. I took a joint mortgage with my ex 10 years ago through Ge money. He ran off and refused to help me with the house so I tried to rent it out for a number of years but the last tenant trashed it beyond affordable repair. I decided to go with the voluntary…

Application for Stay to be lifted
I had a court claim back in 2015 for a debt that Cabot had purchased and after seeking advice from StepChange and entering their token payment plan, a repayment of £1 per month was agreed. I had a letter some time ago from Cabot stating that I was in arrears but I just thought StepChange were dealing with it so stupidly…
