What small DFW things will you do this week? w/c 16/01
When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym. But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when…

Credit rating recovery
Hi All, My husband and I want to buy a house in the near future, preferably in the next 18mths. We looked into things last year and realised that his credit rating was very poor to say the least (250ish). My credit rating is near excellent (920). He had a number of defaults and CCJs, when he got into financial difficulties…

Help with DMP
I am in the same position, and am looking for help myself. Maybe we can settle each other down? What I want to know is, My DMP has come to an end, I still owe a lot of money, I was told that they can no longer act in my best interests and advise us to go to a free DMP. Will a new DMP (Debt Management Plan) take us on with…

After court cases and struggling with debt caused by him, our property was transferred to me but I am now in a situation when his car debt is registered as a charge on the land registry document. I am not planning to sell but I'm in a process of a new…

Starting fresh for 2017
Yes, I know it is the 15th of January - but have had a nasty flu infection since just after Christmas and not even had the strength to sit at my computer. I had not updated my Snowballs since August and payments had been all over the place (I was selling stuff on Facebook/Ebay, so had made extra payments to my highest…

Debt/Housing situation
Not sure if I am posting this in the correct part of the forum, so please forgive me if not. There might be a straight forward answer to this/I can't see the wood for the trees. In a bad situation, don't know what to do
Hi everyone, It's pretty tough to be here, I've gotta be honest. I've racked up a lot of debt, mostly in the form of loans, which I did to get by after I lost my job in September. I've just got a new one and I start next week, with a salary of £35K. To be honest though, I didn't have good money habits even when I was…

Options?
Hi guys, I was interested in some advice from the more financially savvy than myself. I have racked up quite a bit of debt, I’m currently in the red to the tune of £12000. The worst part is that it is spread across credit cards, overdrafts and loans, a proportion of this is on a high interest credit card. There is a number…

Catching up with Payments
I got myself into a situation where I missed a couple of payments on one thing, to pay for another thing (usual scenario) I have contacted all my creditors and arranged to continue my normal monthly repayments plus pay back the arrears on top until I am straight. My question is - on Experian I now have a couple of missed…

Most severe unsecured debt you have encountered?
Hi Folks, What is the most severe case of unsecured debt that you have encountered/heard of? Mine was 55K at the start of last year and felt like the end of world. I am in to the 30K's now which still feels pretty bad, but obviously better than last year!
