When will a default expire? Confused by advice from Barclays
Bit of a strange question. Few years ago I got into major financial difficulties. Moved house in the middle of it and lost track of a few things. Have now got myself back on track, paid off all my debts or so I thought. Checked my credit file recently and saw a loan from Barclays that still had a balance of £3200 on it…

Vodafone issues rep required
Hi, WRT135 - WRT I'm having a nightmare time since I joined Vodafone since November 2014 when I took out 2 x new iPhone 6 accounts leaving O2 and EE. From the 01/12/2014 both numbers lost all data access and my number never ported to Vodafone from O2. I spoke with Vodafone everyday for 3 solid weeks with no resolve and…

Help with stubborn debt collector
Hi guys my first post and not sure if it's on the correct place, but seems like a good place to start. Basically back in October 14 I received a letter from a company called Lowell, they claimed they had purchased an outstanding debt from Orange £1002. I've never had any dealings with orange so I was confident it was a…

Should I add my current account to my credit report?
OK, sorry for another new thread but this is a slightly separate question. My current account doesn't appear on my credit report. I've had the account since I was 12 or so so have a good long history with it. When I log in to online banking the amount of money available is a £500 more than the account balance so I assume I…

Fraud by Brother
Hey, I'm not sure if this in the correct section so please move it if its incorrect, I'm post on behalf of my partner. A couple of years ago her brother opened up two shop direct accounts using her name, and address and his own email address, he later changed the address to his old residence (he no longer lives it). The…

Average account age
How important is this to a credit score? I am in the process of tying up all the discrepencies, oddities and loose ends on my credit report with a view to apply for a mortgage in 6 months or so. I have a Lloyds TSB current account that is 4 years old- there is no money in it and no overdraft or debt owed, but apparently I…

Sudden decrease in Experian score?!
Hello everyone, I'm new and have a quick question I'm hoping someone might be able to help with. I recently got my Experian result and had a score of 948 which amazed me as I only had one credit account on it (which was a utility company and had been open for 48 months), everything else is in my partners name and id got my…

Poor score
Hi all, Just got a potentially permanent job so had the first inklings of thinking about saving quickly to buy a place. Checked my credit score with Equifax - was suprisingly low! At the bottom of their Excellent category which seems not too excellent! Immediately signed up to the Electoral Register and cancelled an old…

Victim of Fraud and CRA's
I have a slight issue, I am a victim of fraud and have been for almost a year, have CIFAS markers in place and have written to all creditors advising them to secure accounts and have changed passphrases and all other security info (all done and dusted in May 2014). The problem I have now is despite all of that, my details…

Virginmedia
Hi just wondering what rights I have. Joined Virginmedia around 8 months ago and they gave me a second hand landline number. I have had several calls for the previous owner of the number. This evening I had bailifs turn up at my door trying to gain access to my property for the previous registered owner of my phone number.…

Sudden decline in Noddle rating
Hi folks. A couple of months ago I applied for a Santander 123 account and got turned down because of a "low credit score". I was pretty shocked by this as I'd never been turned down for credit before, my Noddle rating was 5/5 and my Experian score was 980+ (no debt beyond a credit card paid off every month, never missed a…

Small default after weeks contacting to arrange
Hi I've ended up with a small default of £179 for a catalogue. Basically started occurring charges and fell behind after back injury and no work as a result, but anyway I've been in contact with the company and spoke/emailed on a few occasions trying to resolve the matter which I was planning to clear off over a couple…

My bank won't give an an account!
Hi guys, you read that right. I bank with Santander business but they won't give me a personal account. I run a business that turns over in excess of £1m p/a. My salary is currently 70k. My problem is that I sacrificed my credit score in setting up my business. Say what you will about that but I sacrificed a lot and took a…

financial associate help
If I am financially linked with someone, but no longer have any joint finance with them can I have this amended? It was a joint bank account and it's affecting ability to get credit but we no longer share a joint account or any other financial products and are no longer together? Don't know if there's a timescale I have to…

Noddle/Callcredit allow lies
Many of my debts are registered as "credit card" debts. Even though they are catalogues and mobile phone debts. I have never had a credit card in my life yet that's the category they come under. Disputes on my credit report have not changed this. It's misleading. No wonder I can't get a card.

Defaults question
Could someone confirm why an account that I settled in 2012 would still be showing up as defaulted every month for the past 4 months? I have posted a screengrab below (with personal details removed). I understand that a settled default is still a default, but it's not recorded any monthly defaults since 2012 and now…
