5 months left until 6 year cut-off, should I pay?
First post, hi all! Six years ago I was a mess. Now I've cleaned up. 2 years into a permanent job I've got 1k savings, no more CC debt, 1 year into a credit card for poor credit scorers (much thanks to MSE.com and the forum posts here!), and this year after a recent promotion I want to start seriously saving to get a…

Career Development Loan & credit checks
Any advice welcome! One of my children wants to apply for a Career Development Loan for an aspect of his postgraduate year. Credit rating wise for her - no problem. But as she'll probably need to provide her home address (though arguably not - she's lived away from home, at least during term time, for the past 3.5 years).…

Checking my Credit Report - quick query
I have just done a credit report with CallCredit (I am doing them with the other two as well, but for some reason they were not able to verify my identity so I have to send them documents). As far as I can tell all looks OK, there's just two things I wondered about and wondered if anyone could help? Connections & Other…

Natwest claiming to keep credit info forever!!??
I've recently paid off an outstanding debt with Natwest for £1200, which I have been making payments to since a default on a joint bank account in 2009. The relationship went sour and I've been left to pay the whole amount on my own. Now I've been told that my ex needs to authorise my name being removed from the account so…

Refused finance - mortified!
So last night I found myself in a furniture store. Totally unplanned and found a sofa I liked. Needed one for a while and as it was 4 years interest free finance I thought why not? So when I got home I tried to arrange this finance only to be refused. ( I have never been refused anything following a credit check before)…

Close down a credit card?
Hi I am looking to improve my credit card score which used to be quite high. I think its dropped since most of my credit is on one credit card. I currently have one with about 75% used on one and 0% on the other one (It is about £15,000) If I close down the 0% used one - would it improve my credit card score do you think?

Equifax and Call Credit
Hi all, Had an issue recently where Zopa put a late payment marker on in error. It showed up on Equifax and Noddle / Call Credit free monitoring reports (unsure about Experian). Zopa are adamant they only deal with Equifax and that Noddle must get their data from Equifax. Equifax have ammended the info but still shows on…

Can i or will I get a ccj?
Hi everyone Happy new year. Got a question about a black horse car finance loan I took out in 2007. I'm self employed and the 08/09 recession hit my industry hard and I went down to a two day week. I prioritised my money and the car came last obviously. I contacted them they weren't much help in offering any solutions…

Few questions
Hi all, I have been browsing the forums trying to clear a few things up but I have a couple of questions left over. Sorry if this is the wrong place to put this, it is related to a few different things. Around 2 years ago, I went to my bank to ask for a car loan of around £4k. The interest rates offered to me were…

Hello All Been reading on here whenever I've needed to and most other times just out of interest to other peoples problems and victories! :T I have two simple questions if somebody better educated in this debt and credit field could help... 1. Uncle Bucks multiple searches and reports
Hi Guys, For a number of years I was pretty desperate and went down the Uncle Bucks route. I initially had a loan of about 350 in 2012 then kept rolling it over until they said I couldn't do that anymore, but instead had to pay off whole loan, then have a new loan within days. I recently checked my credit file and noticed…

Account gone missing
I checked my report on noddle this morning and my HP for my car is not showing. It was there last month and now it's not. I've never missed a payment, and there's another 1.5 years to run so any ideas why it's not there anymore? Incidentally I bought my statutory report from Experian before Christmas and it showed on that…
