Parking ticket dispute

If someone has an ongoing dispute with a parking ticket, can this affect your credit file eventually if you still do not pay?

Go to the parking forum on motoring and read the "newbies" thread.

Thanks yes I have been there, but this is entirely about credit files.

If it is in dispute can they still mark a default on your credit file?

Unless I am incorrect. There is no credit agreement in place therefor there shouldn't be any adverse effects on your report.

They gave you an invoice, it could only become a debt if they took it to county court, landed one of the asleep at the wheel judges who likes to ignore case law and won the case.
Then you refused to pay the CCJ.
    Then its a debt.

Thanks, this really is true? Can someone else confirm? Even if it goes to court there should be no effect on credit report?

If they take it to County Court and a CCJ is registered this will go against your report.

As said, only way it could impact your credit report is via a County Court Judgement.

Even if in the unlikely event of one of those being granted, if paid in full within one calander month you can have the registration of the CCJ removed from the register and hence your credit report.

I think its a government one, just a normal traffic warden. But Im disputing it all the way, its a long story but I was just in the process of putting the permit in the car but I had to go and pick it up first thats when she got me. I explained and she said its gone throguh now but you can appeal.

If it is a council issued ticket then you best advised to go to pepipoo.com and get help there, they are very helpful.

Your description that you were "just in the process of putting the permit in the car" does quite sound right since you then say "but I had to go and pick it up first".

Sounds like CEO found a car with no permit on it and correctly issued a ticket. Think it'll be hard to fight that on the grounds that the CEO wasn't using her psychic powers.
