Paying off credit card after death
My father died 4 days ago. His Santander credit card was always paid off in full by a monthly direct debit from his TSB current account. That current account has now been frozen. Today the latest credit card statement for him came showing that he owes £55 (due for payment by Oct 17th) Presumably the usual direct debit…

I have used a FairFx travel card all over the world for at least 10 years and at first there were many benefits, customer support used to be great. This August I loaded all my holiday money onto it, received no hint of any problem and headed off to the Far East (as I have many times in the past). However when I arrived I…

Nationwide Credit Card Credit Limit Problem
Hi All - I need to make a £6000 purchase at the end of this week but my credit limit on my Reward Credit Card is just over £3000. If I were to pay £3000 into my credit card in advance would this allow the £6000 purchase to be charged as I would have £3000 sitting waiting to be used plus my credit limit?

Halifax Persistent Debt
Hello, I've read the threads on persistent debt but I'm confused as to whether the persistent debit applies here. A Halifax card with a balance £3k and interest rate of 6% means we're paying off at around £45 pcm including £15 of interest (approx). Its just been on the minimum for around 8 years (1%+Interest) Do the…

Just be able to amend the existing DD?
1. I have a credit card with MBNA, used purely for a balance transfer. I'm currently paying the minimum. I'd like to pay a fixed amount of more than this, but have been told the only way is to set up a standing order in addition to the DD. This seems over-complicated. Surely I should just be able to amend the existing DD?…
