Balance Transfer Fee Refund
Hello, I recently applied for a Halifax All in One Credit Card and did a balance transfer from an RBS Credit Card. I was advised that the balance transfer fee is 3% but they refund part of a 3% fee so overall a 0.8% fee is payable. This balance transfer has been completed and I have been charged 3%. Does anyone know when…

I have had a Debenhams Credit Card for years and as with all my credit cards pay the full amount off each month. Since Santander have taken over for payments I have received two late payment letters for which I have had to pay £12 on top of the interested added (the latest one was 54p interest but £12 letter!) Mail
Put this here since it involves a credit card, but not sure if there is another thread / topic it would be better on. Today I received a statement from Nationwide, which is the first I've had since I opened the account: I have been Paperless for 18 months and haven't had a statement in 18 months. For some reason, this…

Phoned their help line but the customer rep does not think I am the customer so won't help even although I know all the relevant…

What is Standard purchase interest in laymen's terms?

Received a letter out of the blue from HFO Capital
Not sure if I am in the right place. I received a letter today from HFO Capital regarding a Barclaycard debt I ran up about 10 years ago. I was young and naive and ran up the debt which wasnt sensible. I had Barclaycard on my back for a while but it all went quiet and then another company contacted me saying they had taken…

Shopping online with a foreign currency
I have been looking at ways to shop online where it is necessary to use a credit card number and pay in U.S. dollars. All the advice I read is for people using cards abroad and I assume that is the same as shopping in a foreign currency from the UK, is there any difference? I found out about Halifax Clarity card on MSE and…

Transferring to 0% balance - the mechanics

CC company sent a letter!
I did an on-line zero rate balance transfer from one of my CCs and when I checked a few days later nothing had happened so I telephoned them to find out why. The call centre lady said that there was a note on the file to say that they had not done the transfer as there were insufficient funds as I had to allow for the…

Best credit card to get after bankruptcy
Hi. We were made bankrupt in 2009, and discharged in 2010. We will be clear on our credit file in 18 months' time, and thought that we would start to try and apply for credit cards, so that we could build up a credit rating. I have been approached by Vanquis to apply for one of their cards, but had heard that some of these…

Hi, Recently set up a card for this, first one. However, my partner decided to use this shared card for a gambling transaction. Now I know they are now classed as 'cash-advance' transaction, but I was wondered if once used this effectively rules out the 0% on all purchases for 3 months perk of the card? Or seen as it is…
