Unenforceable credit agreements
Hi,I have just started to sort out a DMP with CCCS and in my research found a website which tells you the company of the phone number which calls ( i had 4 numbers which kept calling at all time of the day). Many be because we have only sent t token payment this month. In this website 3 of the numbers were from Egg CC. A…

All, apologies if this is an OLD question but we are off to Florida in a few weeks and plan to take some cash with us but can't decide on whether to take my normal Egg Visa card or to get one of those new Pre paid credit cards and load the cash onto it before we go, they seem better?? Balance Transfer question
Hi, I need to do a balance transfer of approx 5k and was wondering if anyone knows of any lenders who can do this in 1 go for someone earning between £20-£25k and has a good credit rating. I don't want to apply and be accepted for a card with only say a 3k limit and having to juggle between 2 cards. I want it all on one.…

Credit card with 0 balance good or bad thing?
Hello all, I owe £9000 in total. £6500 northern rock loan 7.6%, £2500 on a 0% virgin credit card. I am considering putting the loan onto 2 credit cards. £4000 on a 6.8% Barclaycard card(pay it off in a year) and £5000 on a 0% interest card(any) then move again before the rate changes and pay that off asap. I currently have…

Natwest Mastercard Identity theft protection
Evening All, I seek your opinions... I got a call from my Natwest about my Mastercard today offering me a product called Identity theft protection or similar at a cost of about £90 per year. This also included insurance against any losses incurred from identity theft, 'easy' access to my credit history and...legal costs…

Goods not received
I purchased goods in June on the internet (a company I have used twice before) and have not received them. I have had numerous e-mails (saved) with the same 'change of management' excuse. I have aksed them to ring me twice (which they haven't) and when I asked for a refund they requested that 'I give them time to serve…

Creation credit card payment
I recently got the Flybe credit card to take advantage of its free 241 flight offer if you make any payment. I bought a couple of small items on the 27th July which came to £7.31. I then waited for the statement to come through which didn't arrive until the 25th August, nearly a whole month after spending on the card. This…

Barclaycard payment delays
I've just noticed the payment I made to Barclaycard on 31 August isn't showing on my Barclaycard account yet. I phoned them this afternoon and they said they're having some problems with payments but it should be sorted in 2 days and to ring if any charges appear on my account as a result of the delay as they'll refund…

Make minimum payment but balance goes up!
Hi, I have a capital one credit card with a reasonably small balance which I have had for a number of years. The card has been near the limit for sometime but I have recently discovered from capital one that I am over the limit even though I haven't purchased anything for over 6 months and never missed a payment! It…

Nationwide Credit Card Very slow application time!
I'm just wondering if anyone else who has applied for a Nationwide credit card has encountered it taking ages to arrive. I applied online for the above after reading Martins advice on spending abroad. I filled out the online application back on the 3rd August, I got the approval for my card straight away so sat back and…

Massive inexplicable increase in APR
I’ve just had a letter through from LloydsTSB telling me they’re increasing my interest rate - in real terms it means my rate is going up by more than 25% (in real terms, not as in from an APR of say 6% to 30%!) I’m a bit shocked because I have been a really good customer – I’ve had the card for over 5 years, I’ve never…

Santander Zero Debit Card usage abroad
I understand that the Santander Zero debit card charges absolutely no fees for withdrawing money from ATM's abroad. Is that correct? I was told by a Santander representative that the fx rate that you get is not the rate that Visa gives Santander (like with the Nationwide debit card), but the average of a number of fx rates…

Is credit card fraud now common practice?
Today I received my CC statement with 3 unrecognised transactions for around £400. I phoned the CC company up and from them answering the phone to agreeing to refund the money took about 5 mins. (8 years ago this happened with another CC for £25 and I was treated like a criminal until they eventually 'gave in' and refunded…

What is the best way for me to build a good credit rating from scratch?
I recently tried to purchase a repossession property (this fell through as offers went up a lot from what I was happy to pay) and when going through this process I really struggled to get a mortgage because of both mine and my partners lack of credit history. Neither of us have ever had credit or store cards so the…

Hi, My husband and I have a Tesco Clubcard Credit Card and we have a monthly direct debit setup to pay the full amount. Full & Final Settlement Question
I have several credit cards that I have agreements in place to pay a lesser amount each month. I may have the option of settling the accounts early hopefully. Has anyone got any experience on different credit cards and what I should offer to see if they will accept a full & final settlement. I will list the cards and…
