Nationwide Credit Card Very slow application time!

I'm just wondering if anyone else who has applied for a Nationwide credit card has encountered it taking ages to arrive.
I applied online for the above after reading Martins advice on spending abroad. I filled out the online application back on the 3rd August, I got the approval for my card straight away so sat back and awaited my paperwork to arrive.
2 weeks later and nothing! I phoned nationwide to follow this up who stated I should have got it by now, so arranged for some more to be sent out.
This 2nd lot of paperwork I received, but this time had some of the paperwork missing, which was to do with what I.D I had to send in. Two more phone calls were made to chase this up, to be told to speed things up I could take the I.D into a local branch. This I did on the 23rd August.
We are now today the 6th September and still nothing from Nationwide and when checking online my application still states 'waiting for I.D'. After a further phone call today I'm now told they have my I.D but for some reason nobody has done anything with it yet, and it will take a further 7 - 10 working days for my card to arrive:(
Has anyone else encountered this misfortune with Nationwide?
I was considering moving my current account to them, but as they've made such a shambles with this I'm in two minds whether to or not!
I bet they won't be as slow in applying interest to my account, if I ever get the card that is;)

Yep, I had exactly the same problem, and I got to the point where my application was apparently "expired" because it hadn't been completed within 28 days. I was advised by branch staff to apply again. Not likely.0

Thanks for your reply walesrob;)
I really hope that doesn't happen to me, well I'll do my best to avoid it by constantly chasing them up as I want it for my holiday on the 29th September:D0 -
Well this gets better as I've been informed today that they have now lost my I.D at the branch I handed it in at, so I have to start all over again this time I'm posting it back via special delivery:cool:0

I'm trying through the branch again as the new paperwork never arrived in the post, but this time I'm armed with all the info what the branch has to do and a very nice ladies at account openings has said to ring her while at the branch if they struggle with it lol
Wish me luck:D0 -
