Irresponsible Lending and Settlements
Hi All I'm new so apologies if this has been asked/answered before - or if I've posted in the wrong section. I have lots of debt issues at the moment - but this is a particular one I'm really not clear on. To back up a little - I have just received an offer (which expires at the end of the week) for a 50% reduction on one…

A little help re credit file details.
Ok the main reason for my interest in sorting this out is that I want to apply for a Mortgage in approximately 5 months time (once my new jobs probationary period ends). I moved into a new build house (rented) last November, at the time of moving in the estate agent confirmed the address and provided a tenancy agreement…

Virgin 0% BT deal ends... they up my rate to 25.7% (instead of standard 15%)!
Hey guys, I took out a 0% deal 15 or 16 months ago, direct debit payment, so all was going well. Then the month before my 0% rate ends, they send a letter saying there is to be a change of rates. Balance Transfers from my following statement will be charged at 2.1413% per month. I knew the rate was going to revert to…

About loading a credit card with cash beyond the credit limit: charges? T&Cs?
Let's say the credit card total credit limit is £200. One wants to buy a return flight for £1000. In order to be able to pay with the said credit card, it would take paying £800 to the credit card account in advance of purchasing the £1000 return flight. 1. Have you ever done that? 2. Does your credit card provider charge…

Moving money to avoid cc charges?
Hi all, I have a Barclays account with a set overdraft available and a debit card for it. Barclaycard recently offered me a no strings platinum credit card (which I thought was a joke because I'm on benefits and have been for a long time) so I applied anyway and actually got it. So I used it for a couple of small things…

Prepay Mastercard- Can I use it for car hire abroad?
Because of my partners unsatisfied IVA ( it will be satisfied very soon) I don't think I can get a credit card as we have a joint mortgage and a joint loan which both predate the IVA and 2 joint current accounts. Charges for using credit card
Can anyone explain to me why companies can charge for taking credit card payments? I have just paid a holiday deposit and been charged 2.25% because I paid with credit card, but I thought companies couldn't charge different prices for cash and credit card payments, surely this is the same thing:confused:

Can I cancel a payment made for services that weren't really received?
HI... I'll try not to make this too long. I have long blonde hair which over the last year I have paid to have highlighted every six weeks. Anyway, recently I've been insanely busy and a bit strapped for cash and tried to dye it myself instead of going to a salon. Big mistake. It ended up looking like someone dumped a can…

Visa Debit Card Chargeback Scheme not same as Credit Card?!
I paid for an online service via paypal. The service was not delivered so I started a paypal dispute. Found out they don't cover virtual goods and services so I made a chargeback claim...
