Monzo, Starling or Chase
Hello, I’m looking to open an additional current account for spending, to try and help me keep my outgoings under control. Previously I have been using cashback credit cards, which I do pay off in full each month, but my spending can get out of control. My choices are narrowed down to Monzo, Starling or Chase. I’m mainly…

Paypal inactive fee
I've received an email today saying that Paypal have taken a fee due to me having an inactive account. I'm a tad surprised as I don't recall ever setting one up. Nothing has come out of any bank account or off any credit card but it wouldn't show if it's happened today. I guess I could dispute anything that pops up but I…

Joint account suggestions
Hey guys, we've decided to go for a joint account, to pay bills basically. We considered 123, (or the light variant) but the cashback would be miniscule once the fee is factored in. As we don't want any packaged sfuff and don't intend to keep a large balance on guessing we should just choose a reliable bank with a decent…

Need a current account and savings account that can't spend much in a day
My nephew, 17, wants a current account that has a spending limit of something like £200 per day. This includes bank transfer, cash withdrawal, card payments, etc. A day or more notification for a limit is fine. If this is not possible for a current account then one work around would be a savings account with a strict daily…

HSBC Advance 1750 Minimum still applies
I recently set up the switch from Barclays to HSBC as Martin reported a £150 switch deal and HSBC had removed the minimum pay in per month of £1750. The paperwork has now arrived, and it has on it.... "We'd like to remind you that you'll need to pay in a minimum of £1750 into your account every month" I checked their FAQs…

Starling Bank card on Apple Pay
Did anyone notice the card design has changed in Apple Pay? Now with newer logo! I loaded first the joint card and noticed it’s a darker shade of green. The personal account remains with the teal colour. I do like the colour differentiation. Easier to identify which card to use. card design remains unchanged in the app.

virgin credit cards - balance/amount you can use updates - heads-up
Be careful when using the 'amount you owe' and 'amount you can use' figures within the app. They can be misleading. My credit limit is £3000.00. 'Amount you owe' is showing = £1661.41, 'Amount you can use' = £1338.59 However, neither of these figures includes the transaction for £295.88 that I did yesterday. So, my actual…
