Best online banking via browser

Which bank has the best online banking interface?
I am desperate to leave HSBC because the new app prevents me doing some v basic account management. I do not want my bank in my phone - feels inherently insecure to take it wherever I go rather than keep it safe at home.

I've found the NatWest website for Internet  Banking to be good, but it might  help if you explain what you can't do at HSBC, so that you can get some better advice to guide you to a bank that will allow you to do what  you need to be able to do.
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.

No real problems here with Santander, BOS / Halifax, Lloyds or TSB so what is your specific problem as they all have their quirks.

I use Santander, Halifax and RBS, no issues with any of them.  Must admit I find the browser on my desktop a lot easier than the app on the phone - though I'm a bit of a dinosaur and have always preferred "proper" websites to apps LOL.  But they all seem to allow me to do what I need without any problem.
  • "Best" is relative - what is it specifically about HSBC that you don't like?

There's nothing inherently wrong with banking apps. The apps themselves are likely more secure than a PC with an internet browser - keep a strong lock screen PIN/password as well as a strong PIN for the app itself if you're worried about your phone being lost/stolen. In any case, I haven't found any online banking websites to be a complete deal breaker for me personally. Most of the annoying aspects are down to the mandated security requirements, which pretty much all banks have anyway, so you won't get too far by using another bank for your online banking in my view.
