HSBC £140 bonus not paid

Options
Hello

I'm looking for some help from Money Saving Expert, but the reply from MSE's email address has directed me to this forum.

I applied to switch my bank account over from Lloyds to HSBC in August this year, using the switching bonus offer through MSE, of £140 at the time, and the switch was completed in September. However, I have not received this bonus as yet.

I have spoken to HSBC and they have confirmed that I started the switching procedure within the timeframe necessary and that I am eligible for the bonus, however they are unable to give me the switching bonus as it was conducted through a third party - Money Saving Expert. They have asked me to get in contact with MSE to help me resolve this issue.

Can anyone assist please?

Kind regards

Martyn

Sounds like you are being given the runaround. The payment comes from HSBC, not from MSE, and certainly not from the MSE Forum. I would recommend you raise a formal complaint with HSBC. You can use the Resolver tool for this.

  • Agreed - you need to lodge a formal complain with HSBC as they are the ones who pay the incentive. If you're confident you've met the terms of the offer, then stand your ground and you'll get there in the end.
  • Very similar happened to me. I complained to HSBC first, then to Money Supermarket, who contacted HSBC for me. I still had to chase up, but then someone from HSBC got in touch with me and sorted it out straight away plus an bit extra for my trouble.

Go direct to HSBC with the complaint. NOT through a 3rd party.
