Hey all. Halfway through my debt relief order and I've managed to open up a basic HSBC account. Chuffed as it has Apple Pay comparability. I currently bank with Santander. My plan (to help me budget exactly where my money goes) is: 1) Salary credited into HSBC account 2) £££ Transferred to Santander account for bills (all…

Quick sense check please :)
Hi all, I'd just like to ask a couple of questions regarding bank account switching. Make sure I'm not being thick (as usual). I currently have a First Direct current account which I use as my main billing account. I would like to stay with FD as they are generally very good! I also have a Santander 123 Current Account…

Linking bank account to paypal
There are tons of articles highlighting that it is too risky to link your main current account to paypal. It is recommended to have another account (better with another bank) to keep your main fund and salary safe. I also asked this question, if you open multiple accounts, and it was strange to most people here. The only…

I've just got my £150 from First Direct and so was looking to do another switch but I'm worried that if I move to quickly then I might jeopardise my bonus. I can't see anything in the terms but to be honest I'm pretty poor at reading these documents and also a bit paranoid. Now I have my bonus am I free to move along or…

Rotating Money
Sorry if this is a ridiculous question but I am very new to this! I need to transfer a lump sum of money into my TSB Classic Plus account to continue to receive the interest but then transfer it back to my main account (as I need the money!) and I am just wondering how long the lump sum has to stay in the TSB account for…

Overpaid by Employer
I started a new job in January - part time for 2 days a week. My contract states my salary and says that it is pro rata. I missed the first cut off for being paid in January so at the end of Feb I was paid for the first time. My pay was over double what I was expecting and I have worked it out to be what I should be paid…

TSB £5 contactless payment
I used my contactless card in February 2016. I have just looked at my online statement and whilst my interest has been credited, there is no sign of the £5 for using my contactless card. Is this added later in the month? I looked on the TSB web site, but it just says the £5 will be added the following month.

How quickly can I replace a switching-sacrificed second Tesco current account?
Last October (2015) I opened two Tesco current accounts and deposited £3000 in each with the intention of using them as savings vehicles. No further deposits were made, no direct debits were set up and interest was moved out of them monthly. I have just used one of them as a "donor account" for a TSB Classic Plus account…

Advice regarding financial ombudsman and Halifax packaged Bank account please
In January of last year I asked Halifax for a refund of my packaged bank account. It was completely unsuitable for my circumstances. I chased them repeatedly for a response, calling and going into branch. In October I finally recieved a response, denying the claim for my refund and suggesting that if I am unhappy that I…

Opening new account, just moved house
Hi all! I'm new to MSE forums and hoping someone could help with a query I have. I've been moving accounts around intermittently over the last couple of years and collecting switch rewards. I have my sights on the Halifax £125 reward and keeping that account after switch to collect the £5 a month. My problem is that I've…

Help with Halifax please :(
Hi guys, Please could I have some advice? I wrote to Halifax in 2011 as I was in financial difficulty (heavily pregnant and made redundant) and they agreed to refund a few charges. November last year I went back to them to complain about the rest of the fees they heaped on after me telling them I was in financial…
