Packaged Bank Account Small Repayment.
Hi all, I had a complaint in with Barclays over my additions bank account. Spoke to some guy on the phone about it after a couple of weeks. Checked my account online today and I had received a payment form Barclays of £320. I had my additions account for 13 years and expect a bit more than that! I thought they would send…

LLoyds Packaged Gold Account
Wrote to LLoyds last Monday 22 Feb 2016, making a complaint of mis-selling. By Fri 26th Feb have had a offer of £4.5K refund of payments made for the last 15 years back to 2001 for two 'Gold' accounts held. The basis of my claim being that I could not be indemnified against risk twice, yet they chose to 'sell' me 2…

Can a bank transfer be recalled by the sending account holder??
I guess the real question is, in what circumstances can a sending account holder recall the funds.... I ask the question as I am a small-time landlord (sorry for anyone offended...). Usually for a new tenancy I ask for cash for 1st month & deposit (and provide signed receipts.). Thereafter rent paid by bank transfer.…

barclays 500 euro service
I went to my Barclays branch and asked if I could deposit a 500 euro note into my current account. Yes, said the assistant. She confirmed the sterling exchange rate, and after several minutes pressing buttons, she announced the transaction was complete, and gave me 2 receipts. One to confirm the exchange of 500 Eu to…

Lloyds - removing vantage 3rd May
Just had a letter saying my account will no longer have Vantage as of the 3rd of May. The name 'Vantage' will be removed shortly after and it will just be a plain Classic account. I'm not bothered as the interest was pennies. Anyone else had this? Darren

Any current accounts that have decent savings interest for more than 12 months?
I've been looking at getting a new current account and am interested in one that pays 4% interest either in the current account or in a linked savings account. There are quite a few out there, the problem is that the good interest rate is only for 1 year and thereafter it drops down to a very undesirable amount, from the…

Managing a foreign currency inheritance
Hi. I'm expecting to receive an inheritance shortly in the form of cash in three german Commerzbank bank accounts. Some of the cash however may be in the form of shares. I'm a UK citizen and resident. But I'm considering moving overseas, perhaps to a EU country, but also possibly further afield. But I don't want to commit…

Identity theft help - Lloyds, TSB and credit
I am a victim of identity fraud. On Saturday I received a debit card from Lloyds for a current account which I did not apply for. I have recently moved house, but luckily had mail redirection on. I think it's the estate agents or someone associated with the previous tenancy who thinks they can access my post. So happy that…

As per the title does the £5 bonus only apply to people who switch? Can I just open the account and get it that way? Reason is I don't want to switch my current account as I earn a decent amount of cash back from Bills every month and credit card payments I make anyway. I also don't have an idle account I can just switch…

More questions than answers perhaps I'm trying too hard!
Having read many posts, I would really value some pointers with setting up multiple saving accounts and managing the monthly circulation of funds. It feels like mental gymnastics trying to feed different accounts, at the right amount at right time in the right account. I am trying to manage my pension lump sum which is…

Lloyds Private banking free club Lloyds ?
Whilst Browsing the LLoyd's Web Site, I came across this: "Automatic refund on £5 monthly Club fee for Private Banking clients" Does this mean that Private Banking clients do not have to pay in the £1500 per month or have 2 Direct Debits like standard accounts do to avoid the £5 fee.

Which debt first?
I have two sets of debt and I have the opportunity to clear one. Lets assume I have no opportunities to stooze or overpay on either and have no savings Credit Card - If I clear it, then I do not have to worry about interest after the interest free period ends which is next month. If I leave it, then the APR is roughly 18%…
