LLoyds Packaged Gold Account

Wrote to LLoyds last Monday 22 Feb 2016, making a complaint of mis-selling. By Fri 26th Feb have had a offer of £4.5K refund of payments made for the last 15 years back to 2001 for two 'Gold' accounts held.
The basis of my claim being that I could not be indemnified against risk twice, yet they chose to 'sell' me 2 packaged accounts which included insurance.
Additonal mis-selling included being told I was a privileded customer and therefore needed a gold account etc, etc
So far so good, however LLoyds refusing to acknowledge that these accounts were active since 1991 as they have no records prior to 2001.
My next step is to elevate my complaint via Finacial Ombudsman and claim for the additonal 10 years.
Does anyone have any experience of a historical claim?

Statute of limitations (15 years) may come into play here.

Why is it the banks fault you "bought" two Packaged accounts0

Can you provide evidence going back to 1991?0 -
if you can i would have thought you can argue your case strongly,
but £4.5k sounds useful to me:)0 -
Banks liabilty as we were told we each had to have a Gold account (earnings dicatated this allegedly) as bank cards validated cheques to the sum of £250 instead of ususal £50. Fees of £12.95 were applicable for this service as opposed to being charged for useless insurances.
In essence, we were lied to.0 -
Yes, I have statement archived in my loft. Happy Days!!0
