HSBC Advance account waiting 1 Month. Compensation?
Hi 1 month ago I called to open the HSBC advance account in an effort to the the 6% reg saver and the save with us offer on their ISA. Took 1 hour on the phone. I was accepted and within a week received the welcome pack which said I would receive my card with 5 days or I would get £10 compensation. I have been travelling…

Being asked for personal ID info when standing at a bank counter?
Am I alone in feeling uneasy or embarrassed being asked to give ID info verbally such as address and particularly Date of Birth by counter staff in a bank where that info can be overheard by anyone waiting behind or around?:o I had already given my Debit Card and a letter from the bank with my address on it. Worse I was…

Complaint about incentive not received?
My sister using the Co-op switching service and 45 days was up several days ago. Today she spoke to someone who said that she was eligible and that they didn't know what had happened but would make sure that it would be paid within the next week. Is it reasonable to complain about the switching incentive not received…

No £125 from First Direct
My wife & I were in the process of switching her banking to First Direct, in part to get her the £125 for switching. They were happy that she waited to get debit card & cheque book before doing the switch. She has those now so just called First Direct to get the 'switch' moving. Her present account is with Cahoot... First…

Bank suddenly wants a proof of address, can't supply
A friend of mine has been working in the UK for 10 months. The bank suddenly issued a letter saying that they don't have sufficient documents to prove their identity, and they must go to the branch and submit an ID document and a proof of address. This is despite everything being fine for 10 months, originally a…

Closed bank account on my credit report
I've been using Noddle to keep an eye on open lines of credit. One of the Experian improvement points given to me was that I had too many open streams of credit, so I'm working hard to close off accounts/overdrafts/credit cards to reduce these accounts. I noticed on Noddle that I appear to have an open Halifax account. It…

Azimo
I transferred some money to a friend's account in Nepal but it is not going through. Azimo says it is due to the earthquakes. I am really worried that this company may not be genuine. I had to upload the photo page from my passport as a security measure (so they said) and this is worrying me also. Can anyone tell me please…

I bank with Santander. For the second time a direct debit has vanished off my account - I've been alerted each time by a contact from the payee (different payee each time). The bank have told me both times that the payee has cancelled the DD - payee denies. Can payees cancel DDs? I just want to know if it's possible.…

US Dollar bank account (low investment)
Good morning, I am moving to the USA next summer. I project having some advertising revenue (albeit small) from an app I am developing. The revenue seems to be delivered in US dollars. As all my over income will be in pound sterling, and then swithched to dollars next summer, I would like to keep the app revenue in US…

Joint Cheque into Single Account
Morning! random question but Mr Lema and I have been given a cheque in joint name i.e mr and mrs lema. Mr Lema would rather not have it in the joint account as it will mess up our finances and its an amount for a treat rather than household items. Could I pay it into my account at Natwest? I could get him to sign it

123 interest payment frequency?
Evening moneysavers, Just a quick question. I opened up a Santander 123 current account today as I'm about to get under way with saving and switching accounts. As I understand it, having read the account details, interest and cashback are paid monthly. With that, on balance of £3000, I'd be getting £90 in interest, the…

Nationwide number of accounts
I note that Nationwide has a limit of four accounts per person. My wife has Power of Attorney for both her parents who each have a FlexDirect in their own names. She applied for a joint account for them but this was refused because my wife has her own FlexDirect plus a joint account. According to Nationwide, this would…

money taken from account - shadow payment?
Ok, I'll be honest it's not a lot of money I'm talking about...only £16.70. But it's my £16.70. So, on 28th March we ordered a takeaway from https://www.Just-Eat.co.uk for £16.70. It was sent through to the take away who rejected the order. I chatted to just eat on line and was told I'd get a refund, to reorder and the…
