Ownership of bank statement data?
So, I need to take my finances in hand. One part of this is to download ALL my statement data to manipulate in a suitable budgeting/analysis tool. To my astonishment, LloydsTsb has an atrocious web interface to do this; the easiest way is to download 25 transactions at a time, resulting in hundreds of files; and if I…

Trust your bank?
Hi MSE, I am a designer and working in improving the touchpoints we have with our banks in an MBA student competition. One issue I have come across in customer interviews is trust. What is it about banks that make you trust them less, or trust them more? I would appreciate your views. The goal is not be be disengenuous.…

Bank Admits Fault - S/O
A friend of mine has been having problems with his bank. He went in 3 months ago to cancel a s/o to his ex-partner for maintanence payments as they had then been set up instead through CSA, he was passed over to an adviser from the counter to open a seperate b/a for these CSA payments to come out (they are for the exact…

Mystery payment out of current account
My girlfriend has just phoned me in a panic as she has noticed a payment of about £250 from her current account which she does not remember. She has phoned her bank (Lloyds) but they've told her they can't see who the recipient is until Wednesday. This has almost emptied her account so she is rather worried and doesn't…

Missing money
Since opening a Principality E-Saver, I've transferred a few batches of funds across from my Smile account - two transfers of about £2000 each around 20th February. These both arrived promptly (somehow one of them is even showing as credited to the Principality account the day before the Smile account shows it being…

Service Levels
Nationwide just mucked up a transaction of mine. They took money from a variable rate cash ISA and put it into a fixed rate ISA as I asked ... the only trouble was, they did it twice! OK, so I contacted them and ONE DAY LATER, they corrected it. Well done Nationwide and you are a shinning example of why I will never do…

Halifax £100 query
I applied for the Halifax account £100 promo they were doing a couple of weeks ago just before I went on holiday. Switching bonus without a credit check?
Hi all, I really should get a new account, my Natwest one has been poor for years and last year they essentially closed the account. Some of these switch and earn offers (ie £100 when you switch) seem fantastic. I decided to sign up for the halifax reward account but I was shocked when they rejected me because of a credit…

We want to put it in her name but until she's 18 we'd be the ones in control of the account. Does anyone know which type of account would be best and what we'd need to…
