RBS Manchester Business Account Centre
I received a lovely threatening letter yesterday (dated 14/4) informing me that they had recently served a notice on me (not received) and that I had failed to comply so they are terminating overdraft arrangement and demand payment not later than close of business today (22/4). I knew this was coming, I do not dispute and…

Im wanting to switch my bank account from natwest, I have recently had a hard time financially which is now resolved, but during this time they have been truly horrible (maybe this is the same with all banks but I want to move on from them) So, which is the best account around?? Ethical Banking alternative to the Co-Op?
I know the term ethical banking is an oxymoron but I would prefer to bank with one that has at least attempted to think about where their money is going. Not only that but ethical bank investments have had a better long term return and they were generally considered "safe" during the recent banking crisis. We have been…

Bank account with no minimum to pay in?
I'm setting up a very small scale business - along the lines of Body Shop/Avon kind of sales. I'll be selling jewellery I make as a hobby, and don't expect to make fantastic amounts of money so it's really not worth getting a business bank account with all the charges for every kind of transaction. I think I'd be wiping…

Faster Payments & Bank Holidays?
If I send a payment using faster payments today, will it be Tuesday before it reaches the destination account? I know that FP is automated, but since today & Monday are bank holidays I wondered if the funds would still be credited as normal or delayed until the banks reopen? Thanks

Bankers Draft issue...
Simple and straight to the point. Went to pick up a bankers draft from a grandparent today to pay into my bank (despite trying to get them to chaps it, my grandparents refuse to do anything online or over the phone). Halifax to Halifax too, anyway. After a few minutes looking for it, my uncle pops in saying he has shredded…

So I logged on to our joint account with Smile/ Co Op this morning as I do every morning at around the same time to check whats gone in and out and there is a £1000 debit for a well known department store which at first glance looks like some sort of store account card. Easy access saver account which uses faster payments?
Does anyone know of any easy access savings accounts with a good rate of interest which allow transfers by faster payments? I have an account with Birmingham Midshires which pays 2.75% but it only allows deposits and withdrawals by BACS and I would like to be able to move money faster, hopefully within hours rather than…

How long to banks keep records
I have asked my bank Natwest for a copy of my bank account application form, as I have a dispute with them over what I actually signed for all those years ago with the charges that I knew nothing about. I have been told by them they do not have my original application as it was over 5 years ago,,, my question is simple...…

Reminder: lots of upcoming bank holidays - get your payments made on time
Thought it might be a good idea to remind people about the bank holidays in the next couple of weeks. Of the next seven days which are usually "working days" for banking purposes, four are bank holidays. That means that many payments will take quite a lot longer than usual - BACS payments between accounts, payments to many…

Wrongly charged for Amazon Digital Dwn
Check your bank statements carefully. Having just checked my Halifax bank statement that arrived today I found that I had 15 tranactions for Amazon Digital Dwn over two days on 31/03/2011 and 01/04/2011. I don't even have an Amazon account. I made very few tranactions using my card (in fact 4, two on line at Play and…

"Guaranteed acceptance" on Halifax credit card when I log into my Reward account
When I log into my Halifax Reward account the first (marketing) screen offers me a credit card with guaranteed acceptance if I apply before 6 May. Has anyone else got this or taken it up? The reason I ask is that I've applied twice before (over a 12 month period) and been rejected so I don't want to find there's some small…
