Halifax My Offers
I read a thread on this some time ago but cannot find it now! I've been with the Halifax about 4 1/2 months, I have the normal current account and a £250 overdraft (don't use it) when I log in I get that offers page before I even get to my online statement. So last night thought blow it will apply, it still asked me my…

Natwest tried to steal my money
I mistakenly paid a cheque £5100, drawn from my Abbey account payable to me into an old closed Natwest account I closed 2 years ago. Instead of following banking rules and regulations laid down by the FSA (financial services authorities) they did not return the cheque or inform me of my error. I meant to pay the cheque…

Joint bank account
Dear All Could someone please tell me whether if you have a joint bank account the other person can just run overdraft as they like it and can drag you into a debt? Surely I have to agree to that? Does the bank have to prove i.e. have signed agreement that I have agreed to that overdraft? What if the bank have no copy of…

Can my bank change my account terms retrospectively?
Would appreciate any guidance on this one from people who know what they're talking about! They've done this,…

Great 'what do you pay more for if you're poor?' Hunt
Great 'what do you pay more for if you're poor?' Hunt We're doing some work with Save the Children, and one issue's the 'poverty premium', where being cash-strapped means things cost more. Examples include higher bills on gas and electricity meters, no web access so things are pricier and more expensive borrowing, eg,…

Barclays Fraud Dept
Recently I have had my card stopped twice and had to confirm the transactions. Both times I had recently donated money to a charitable organisation on line. Is this a coincidence or do card cloners etc try a card out on a charity site? I've feel a bit put off as they stop my card immediately and the first I know about it…

In my online banking to set up a payment to a credit card it asks you to select the company the card is with and then to put the credit card number in as a reference. Hello all. I currently have an U19's Account with Lloyds TSB, which I've had for about 18 months now. However, I now am wanting to switch to another bank, preferably with Internet Banking so I can transfer whatever I have left at the end of the month into a savings account. Finding "lost" bank accounts?
After a conversation with my gf, she said she has an account with the Royal Bank of Scotland, but hasn't used it in yonks, has no papers (to her knowledge) & no card, but she knows the account was never closed. why be loyal to your bank??
I have noticed that whenever you apply for a new product at the bank, or a new account at a new bank they ask "how long have you been with your current bank?" Is this important? Does your answer affect your credit score? What does it do...if anything!? Cheers
