God, just moved from Nationwide.. Santander's online banking is hideous!
Do they have plans to make it look any better than what it is?
I cant even see how to order a new card on it!

Wouldn't worry about it, you're bound to be locked out for 'suspected fraud' more often than you get a chance to use it.
BTW - run whilst you can. You have been warned.Santander are awful - mission in life is to warn people since 17-Sep-10, 18-Sep-10 realised one of thousands.0 -

Been using the online banking since way back well many years anyway and never had one problem with it.. guess I am just used to it .. but it always works and I have never been accused of fraud or locked out I guess its just the way you use it..#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

That's true, (second time in as many months) I was blocked for suspicious activity that was so suspicious they couldn't even tell me what it was on the phone. I had to wait for a letter so I could call them up again and tell them what it was. But they had a point it was a transfer from Santander to a another account with my name - how dodgy does is that having more than one bank account?Santander are awful - mission in life is to warn people since 17-Sep-10, 18-Sep-10 realised one of thousands.0 -

Between my OH and myself we have numerous accounts with Santander and and a couple with other banks and regularly transfer between accounts with no problem and have been doing so for 20 odd yrs with Abbey , Alliance and Leicester and now Santander as I said with no problems it seems its often 'new' customers that have these problems maybe when you become both become more familiar with each others way of doing things it will improve for you...#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

If you look through the many Santander threads on this forum, you'll find it's not just new customers who are having problems - there are many, many reports from people who have been customers for years. I'm an example of that - I'd been with A&L since the Girobank days, never had any problems with them at all, used to recommend them to people. I'd seen the customer service decline over the last few years, and I could see that the on-line banking wasn't keeping up with other banks, but as I'm very organised with finances and always know exactly what's in my account and what's due in and out, it was still okay...until the last few months, when I've had several weeks when I couldn't access on-line banking, when I couldn't get through on the phone, when it took several phone-calls and several visits to a (not-local, as there aren't any) branch to get an account closed. Believe me, it's not a lack of familiarity that's causing the problems - it's that Santander are !!!!.0 -
I'm not a brand new customer, I was with A&L for 2 years without problems, just once Santander took over did it all start. I think we have irreconcilable differences so I'm moving on, shame they can't do the same - latest is they've credited my account with 3k extra and so can't leave until they take it next month ... so clingy :rotfl:Santander are awful - mission in life is to warn people since 17-Sep-10, 18-Sep-10 realised one of thousands.0
