Hi, I’ve just moved over to UC from tax credits and have never had any problems claiming for my nanny (I have 3 children - including toddler twins so it’s MUCH cheaper to have a nanny). She is registered etc and has everything needed to meet the requirements of ‘childcare’ for tax credits and UC. But here’s where things…

Will money from selling/buying house affect benefits?
Hi, I'm moving house soon - selling my home to purchase and move into another. The house I'm buying is a bit cheaper than the one I'm selling but all of this money is going to a builder as it needs some work done. As soon as this money goes into my account it will be paid to the builder. I receive tax credits (both working…

ESA in 2012 and I was placed in the support group. I have never been re-assessed
on ESA and my…

Council Tax Benefit and minimum 20% payment, how does it work?
Hello Some councils are now asking residents to pay 20% of their council tax regardless of their circumstances, so nobody gets full exemption. How does this work if you are receiving council tax support (CTS) please? Is the CTS worked out separately from the 20% minimum payment, or is your payment topped up to 20% if the…
