Bedroom tax

Does anybody know if the bedroom tax still applies!?
I'm moving from a 2 bed into a 3 bed but there is only me & my daughter that lives here. I'm moving due to the current street I live on is getting so bad. My house constantly smells of weed an I'm sick of reporting it. This house came up for rent right next door to my mum which straight away will make me feel safe. I didn't realise it was a 3 bed but I'm worrying now about the bedroom tax although the box room is ridiculously tiny an would only fit a toddler bed in but the landlord has converted the attic.
Does anyone know the answer to my very long winded question!?

There is no bedroom tax, they will only pay for what your household needs, in your case the max you will get is the 2 bed LHA rate for that area.

Are you renting from a local authority/housing association or privately?

if the former and you are deemed to have a spare bedroom you will be required to pay a minimum of 14% of the rent yourself (25% if two spare bedrooms).

if the latter the maximum help with rent will be the two bedroom Local Housing Allowance for your postcode (see https://lha-direct.voa.gov.uk/) even if the actual rent is more than this.

I don't get full help with my rent I don't even get the full LHA for a 2 bed that I'm currently in. I private rent but get a fraction of help towards my rent from the council. Just worried about when I move an notify them the help I get will be even less with it being a 3 bedroom property

You will continue to get the two bed LHA.
The bedroom tax only applies to council/social housing.

Thank you so much for all help and advice. Stressful enough moving house and having to pay more rent without having to stress about extra stuff on top 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️
