Paying 6 months rent in advance - deprivation of capital?

Hi, I've noticed some landlords ask for a few months rent in advance at the start of the tenancy. If this is done does it count as deprivation of capital under Universal Credit?
Thanks
Thanks

I have seen a case where a DWP Decision Maker allowed a 6 month advance payment.
It helps to have written confirmation from the letting agency that this is a requirement.Alice Holt Forest situated some 4 miles south of Farnham forms the most northerly gateway to the South Downs National Park.0 -
I would say no, as you are securing somewhere to live for a set period, under HB regs it used to be allowed and I dare say it would be under UC, you probably just won't find it written anywhere. However it you decided to pay this way to get more benefit, then it may potentially DOC, but as Alice states, if you have written evidence, then this will negate that.
